As a Test Technician at Impulse, you will perform a wide range of spacecraft component and assembly testing while developing and maintaining state-of-the-art test equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate, assemble and maintain test equipment
  • Perform extensive testing on a variety of test equipment including pressure and propellant systems, combustion devices, vibration tables, thermal chambers and vacuum chambers
  • Perform calibration activities for automated acceptance testing equipment
  • Work with designers, engineers and other technicians to improve test processes and throughput
  • Provide training and guidance to other technicians

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • 3+ years of professional experience in aerospace or other relevant operations or test environment
  • Experience with the safe operation of pressure, electrical, power and data acquisition systems
  • Proficient with basic fabrication tools and processes (electric/pneumatic power tools, tube bending, machining, welding, etc.)
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems with fluid and electrical systems and implement scrappy solutions

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years' of demonstrated experience with propulsion and/or fluid system assembly, testing on rockets, launch vehicles, or spacecraft
  • Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, an understanding for drawing symbols, flag notes and general notes
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, with knowledge of standard operating procedures
  • Attention to detail and accuracy while working within a fast-paced production environment

Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. In addition to base salary, for full-time hires, you may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of stock options, and access to medical, vision & dental coverage as well as access to a 401(k) retirement plan.
