Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed production schedules, ensuring alignment with rapidly changing program priorities
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, and external vendors, to gather inputs and adjust schedules as needed
- Prioritize and sequence work orders to maximize efficiency and maintain critical-path tasks
- Utilize planning tools such as ticketing systems, Kanban boards, and progress trackers to monitor and communicate production status
- Conduct daily stand-ups or production meetings to review schedules, address bottlenecks, and communicate any changes
- Oversee the flow of materials and components through the production process, ensuring timely availability for machining, assembly, and testing
- Monitor resource availability, including tools, materials, and personnel, to ensure technicians have what they need to execute their work
- Adjust workload distribution to address constraints or emerging high-priority tasks without disrupting overall workflow
- Identify and address bottlenecks or delays in the production process, implementing solutions to maintain efficiency
- Establish and maintain visual management systems to clearly indicate the status of parts and assemblies
- Ensure accurate tracking of inventory levels, including raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods
- Collaborate with supply chain and inventory teams to forecast material needs and prevent shortages or overstock situations
- Analyze production data to identify areas for improvement in efficiency, cost reduction, and quality
- Implement process improvements and best practices to enhance production performance
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- 3+ years of experience in production control, manufacturing planning, or a similar role
- Proven ability to manage complex workflows in a dynamic, fast-paced manufacturing or R&D environment
- Strong understanding of production processes and the ability to create and maintain effective schedules
- Strong organizational and analytical skills, with attention to detail
- 3+ years' of demonstrated proficiency with production planning tools, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or relevant experience in manufacturing or production
- 5+ years' of demonstrated experience within the space industry standards and production practices
- 3+ years' of demonstrated experience in environments with complex machining, assembly, and external vendor coordination
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, Kanban systems, and continuous improvement methodologies
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, BOMs, and technical documents
Additional Information:
Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. In addition to base salary, for full-time hires, you may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of stock options, and access to medical, vision & dental coverage as well as access to a 401(k) retirement plan.
