As an Inventory Specialist at Impulse, you are integral to ensuring that every part needed for spacecraft, engines and mission-critical systems is accounted for and readily available. This role is hands on and fast paced, requiring someone organized, confident, and adaptable as priorities shift. You will manage inventory levels, track high-value aerospace parts, and optimize warehouse operations to support rapid production and assembly. Whether it's managing flight hardware, optimizing storage space/organization, or improving inventory systems, your work directly contributes to launching groundbreaking missions beyond Earth.

Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain inventory control processes aligned with aerospace best practices, emphasizing accuracy, traceability, and compliance.
- Track lot controlled and serialized parts, and identify flight, non-flight, development, and prototype hardware.
- Manage inventory transactions including receipts, issues, transfers, cycle counts, and adjustments within ERP/WMS systems.
- Develop and maintain procedures for proper labeling, location control, segregation, and storage of flight and non-flight hardware.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and audits to ensure inventory accuracy and resolve discrepancies proactively.
- Partner with supply chain, quality, production, and engineering teams to support material availability, discrepancy resolution, and material flow.
- Monitor systems to execute ad hoc requests, shipping tickets, kits, kitting, and occasional shipping/receiving tasks.
- Ensure inventory records support full end to end traceability, including certificates of conformance, shelf life, and lot/serial tracking where required.
- Support receiving and shipping activities as needed to ensure material moves accurately and on time through the facility.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to refine inventory accuracy, storage methods, and system data quality as production scales.
- Promote and enforce Safety and material handling standards throughout storage and inventory operations.
- Maintain clean storage areas and support 5S practices.
- Assist with and take ownership of projects such as setting up racks and shelving, improving bin locations, refining labeling, and supporting overall material flow.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- 2+ years of demonstrated experience in inventory control, warehousing, or materials management role with preference to aerospace experience
Preferred Skills and Experience
- 3+ years of inventory control experience, ideally within a large manufacturing facility such as aerospace, automotive, semiconductor, or electronic fields
- Proficient in operating forklifts and other related inventory equipment, with a strong understanding of inventory and kitting processes
- Advanced knowledge of MRP/ERP systems and functions, with excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications, with experience in GD&T and the use of metrology tools and gauges
- Familiarity with aerospace documentation and requirements (certificate of conformance, shelf life, lot/serial control, AS9100/ISO standards)
- Experience with creating inventory control procedures
- Experience with serialized/lot-controlled inventory
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across cross-functional disciplines, with a self-starter attitude and the ability to drive positive outcomes in ill-defined problems or processes
Additional Information:
- Flexibility to work various shifts including overtime and weekends as needed to meet critical deadlines
- Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. unassisted and perform physical activities including lifting, standing, climbing, bending, and walking for up to 75% of the shift time
Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. In addition to base salary, for full-time hires, you may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of stock options, and access to medical, vision & dental coverage as well as access to a 401(k) retirement plan.
