As a Propulsion Test Technician Supervisor, you will support propulsion testing operations while developing and maintaining start-of-the-art test equipment. The propulsion test team is responsible for operating and maintaining high energy test systems that allow for rapid testing of engines, integrated vehicles, and related propulsion hardware. You will lead a team of technicians to execute testing goals, keep the facilities operational, and foster a safe and efficient work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a staff of technicians including all performance management related tasks
  • Foster a culture of extreme ownership and high standards
  • Work with management and engineering teams to identify needs and prioritize tasks while regularly reporting status
  • Manage tasks to perform high value work on tight and evolving schedules
  • Own maintenance and calibration activities for testing equipment
  • Make purchases for the team and site
  • Assess candidates and provide recommendations in the hiring process
  • Monitor labor hours and overtime, approve time cards, and assist in the implementation of time management and performance improvement plans when required

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • 5+ years of experience working in a relevant position or a bachelor's degree in an engineering or science field
  • 2+ years in a leadership role
  • Understanding of the safe operation of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical power systems
  • Proficient with basic fabrication techniques
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems with fluid and electrical systems and implement scrappy solutions

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Associate degree or bachelor’s degree in mechanical, aerospace, or electrical engineering
  • Experience in mission-critical or specialized environments (labs, cleanrooms, data centers, aerospace facilities)
  • Capable of solving complex problems with little to no supervision on schedule as an individual or as a member of an integrated team
  • OSHA 10/30 certification is a plus
Additional Requirements:

  • Must be willing to work all shifts, overtime, and/or weekends as needed
  • Must be able to lift at least 25 lbs. unassisted
  • Must be able to climb ladders and be comfortable working in tight spaces


Additional Information:

Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. In addition to base salary, for full-time hires, you may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of stock options, and access to medical, vision & dental coverage as well as access to a 401(k) retirement plan.
