As an Additive Manufacturing Engineer at Impulse, you will assist in supporting the development and production of additive products for our propulsion system. Work alongside propulsion engineers and other manufacturing engineers to take hardware from initial drawings to functional and robust hardware.

Responsibilities
- Collaborate with design, analysis, materials, responsible engineers and other manufacturing engineers in developing the next iteration of propulsion hardware
- Work hands-on with additive platforms, including optimization, troubleshooting, and calibration, while coordinating with OEMs for improvements
- Drive and identify projects to make the printer platforms more robust and repeatable based on machine issues, failed builds, and sensor monitoring/in process data acquisition
- Produce and optimize strategies for full manufacturing processes (procedures, quality verifications
- Working with vendors to define requirements for additively manufacturing hardware
- Develop new additive processes & materials to support efficient propulsion products
- Drive and identify projects to make the printer platforms more robust and repeatable based on machine issues, failed builds, and sensor monitoring/in process data acquisition
- Produce and improve reports, procedures, and manuals to document results and refine development processes
- Support component testing as it relates to verification and validation of additive hardware (proof, leak, flow, fit tests)
- Manage hardware manufacturing process from additive manufacturing down to test hand-off
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, welding, aerospace, or other related engineering discipline
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated experience with Design for Manufacturability both for additive and traditional manufacturing processes
- Strong understanding of thermal and structural fundamentals as they apply to metallics
Preferred Skills and Experience
- 4+ years of demonstrated hands-on experience with additive machines, specifically printing aerospace parts
- Prior experience in industrial or developmental additive manufacturing, preferably metallics
- Experience in generating multifactorial design of experiments (DOE) and associated data processing skills
- Laser parameter development focused on increased productivity and feature quality.
- Experience optimizing additively manufactured bladed components (turbines, blisks, impellers, etc.)

Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. In addition to base salary, for full-time hires, you may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of stock options, and access to medical, vision & dental coverage as well as access to a 401(k) retirement plan.
