As a Senior Electrical Engineer at Impulse, you will design, build, and fly the power processing unit (PPU) for Impulse's first ever electric propulsion (EP) system. You will work closely with propulsion, software, GNC, and vehicle engineers to drive solutions that meet spacecraft and subsystem needs. You will be responsible for defining and executing the electrical architecture of EP flight systems at Impulse.

Responsibilities
- Develop requirements and trades for avionics subsystems
- Contribute to spacecraft-level architecture trades
- Perform rigorous analyses and simulations of avionics devices
- Perform development testing of hardware in the lab, from a single circuit board to an entire system including non-avionics elements
- Own hardware from inception through flight operations
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with electronics design
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with EP hardware development
- Proficiency with electronics component selection, analysis, simulation, schematics, and layout
- Experience troubleshooting electronics problems at the board level or system level
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Designed and owned EP electronics that have operated in space
- 4+ years of demonstrated experience with electric propulsion flight operations
- Experience in a startup or agile development environment
Additional Information:
Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. In addition to base salary, for full-time hires, you may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of stock options, and access to medical, vision & dental coverage as well as access to a 401(k) retirement plan.
