Operations Specialist (UAV Flight Operations)

ICEYE is looking for an HAPS Operations Specialist and Field Engineer experienced in field testing of unmanned systems, aircraft, robots, race cars or other high-performance or high-complexity systems.
As an HAPS Operations Specialist you will be responsible for preparing and executing ground and flight testing campaigns, as well as assisting in aircraft manufacturing/integration and coordinating operations and flight logistics of an High Altitude Platform System (HAPS).

Responsibilities
- Develop & assist ICEYE flight operations
- Plan & coordinate flight testing campaigns
- Interface with authorities/external entities for operational flight clearance
- Coordinate developments with operations-related contractors
- Operate and/or pilot unmanned aircraft
- Assist in aircraft and operations related documentation development
- Assess and report flight testing results
- Assist with aircraft components integration & systems ground-testing
- Assist in aircraft systems development
- Assist in aircraft prototyping and systems testing
Required Qualifications
- Experience in unmanned aircraft testing and operation
- 3+ years experience as a specialist, integration or field technician
- Experience in aircraft prototyping & manufacturing, e.g. mechanical prototyping tools (3D printing, CAD), basic UAV components (actuators, motors, ESCs, autopilot, etc.)
- Good command of the English language, both oral and written
Preferred Qualifications
- Electronics engineering profile, being able to debug and/or implement quick SW/HW solutions
- Familiarity with Autopilot/GPS stack calibration
- Familiarity with ground software like QGround
- Familiarity with lightweight composite structures/airframes
- EASA-valid remote pilot license up to specific category standard scenarios clearance
- Good command of Spanish language, both oral and written is preferred
- Past experience with professional UAV (or relevant) operations
- Contribution experience to SORA’s (Specific Operations Risk Assessment)
- Proactive, can-do attitude and love for aerospace are expected
