We foster a dynamic and inclusive environment where your ideas are valued, your growth is supported, and your contributions truly matter. With continuous learning opportunities, cutting-edge projects, and collaboration with industry-leading experts, you'll have the chance to grow, innovate, and shape the future of Earth Observation.
Why you will Love this role?
ICEYE is looking for a Senior AIT Production & Verification System Engineer to take full ownership of the satellite as a complete system during Assembly, Integration, and Testing (AIT). In this role, you’ll act as the key bridge between Engineering and Production, ensuring each satellite is manufacturable, testable, and mission-ready. You’ll be involved from the early design phase through production and delivery, making sure system-level requirements are realistic and that the final product meets performance, reliability, and quality expectations.
As part of the role, you will own the integration and verification as a system, working on areas like thermal performance, harnessing architecture, EMC behavior, and end-to-end functionality. You’ll contribute to major design reviews (PDR, CDR, PRR), define system-level test flows, and help resolve cross-subsystem issues during production. Your work ensures every satellite ICEYE builds behaves as expected in orbit, and helps feed lessons learned back into the next generation of spacecraft.
What will you do in this role?
- Be involved from the start of the project through the entire satellite generation lifecycle
- Own the satellite as a full system as an interface between engineering and production from early design through delivery
- Act as the main interface between Engineering and Production to ensure system-level readiness and integration
- Participate in design reviews (PDR, CDR, PRR) and ensure production needs are reflected in technical requirements
- Define and validate satellite-level test flows, including thermal, functional, and EMC verification
- Review and guide the design of interfaces between subsystems (mechanical, electrical, thermal, and SW)
- Support configuration validation, test readiness, and final system checkouts before flight
- Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for cross-subsystem or system-level anomalies
- Contribute to system-level documentation, including EIDPs, procedures, and configuration baselines
- Feed lessons learned and system-level insights back into engineering to improve future satellite generations
- Be present on the production floor, actively supporting integration and test teams with hands-on engagement
- Push toward high Manufacturing Readiness Levels (MRL), ensuring designs are scalable and production-ready
- Collaborate daily with teams across all subsystems, reviewing interfaces and system interactions
What will you need to be successful in this role?
- Satellite system understanding and experience
- An engineering background (specific discipline is flexible)
- 7+ years of experience in the space industry, ideally with direct satellite experience
- Prior systems engineering experience or involvement in system-level responsibilities
- Strong understanding of satellite systems and how different subsystems interact at the spacecraft level
- Some Hands-on experience in Assembly, Integration, and Testing (AIT) of satellites or complex hardware systems
- Solid knowledge of system verification methods, including functional, environmental, and EMC testing
- Experience working with or across engineering and production teams in a fast-paced, high-reliability environment
- Familiarity with engineering design reviews (PDR, CDR) and production readiness reviews (PRR)
- Ability to define and track Manufacturing Readiness Levels (MRLs) and push toward production maturity
- Good grasp of configuration management and test documentation (EIDP, procedures, NCRs, etc.)
- Strong problem-solving skills to investigate and resolve system-level issues across hardware, software, and integration
