About the Company

We are looking for a Financial Controller to lead our controllership, compliance, and taxation functions. This role is critical to ensuring strong financial governance, accurate reporting, and full statutory compliance for a rapidly scaling SaaS business. You will work closely with leadership and external stakeholders to uphold high standards of financial integrity while enabling business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

a. Controllership & Compliance

  • Own end-to-end controllership, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with Indian Accounting Standards, Companies Act, and relevant global accounting standards.
  • Guide team on statutory, tax, and internal audits; ensure zero non-compliances.
  • Oversee direct and indirect taxation, including GST, TDS, corporate tax, transfer pricing, and global taxation (where applicable).
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory and legal requirements, including RBI, FEMA, and MCA filings.
  • Drive and set up strong internal financial controls and risk management frameworks.

b. Systems & Technology Ownership

  • Implement and optimize ERP/accounting systems, billing tools, and reporting automation to enable real-time visibility.
  • Drive adoption of finance digitization (e-invoicing, automated reconciliations, workflow approvals).
  • Ensure system integrations between finance, CRM, HRMS and operations.

c. Financial Reporting & Taxation

  • Manage preparation and review of MIS i.e financial statements, board presentations, and management reports.
  • Ensure readiness for diligence (fundraise, M&A, audit).
  • Partner with CFO/Head of Finance to support governance and information rights obligations.
  • Lead monthly, quarterly and annual book closing in accordance with the applicable regulatory standards, while guiding team on coordination with auditors and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Publishing consolidated financial statements by 5th working day of the month.
  • Develop tax-efficient structures for the organization, ensuring optimal compliance and planning.
  • Stay updated on tax and regulatory changes, proactively implementing measures to minimize risks.
  • Work with external advisors on cross-border taxation, withholding tax, and DTAA benefits.
  • Ensure efficient repatriation structures, intercompany settlements, and transfer pricing compliance.

d. Team Leadership & Process Excellence

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing finance team.
  • Build scalable processes and systems to support a fast-growing SaaS organization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (legal, HR, business, operations) to ensure finance supports strategic initiatives.
  • Drive automation and digitization in compliance and reporting processes.

e. Business Partnering

  • Act as the finance custodian for leadership by providing insights on compliance and risk exposures.
  • Partner with business and operations teams to balance growth with compliance and governance.

f. Working Capital & AR/AP

  • Provide strategic oversight on Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable ensuring efficiency and working capital optimization.
  • Monitor billing cycles, vendor payments, and cash flow planning.
  • Implement robust credit policies to minimize risks while enabling growth.
  • Guide the Revenue Assurance and billing team for month closure.
  • Manage multi-currency banking, FX hedging, and cash pooling across geographies.

Qualifications

  • Chartered Accountant (CA), or equivalent.
  • 6-8 years of post-qualification experience with strong focus on controllership, compliance, and taxation.
  • Experience in SaaS or technology-driven industries is highly preferred.
  • Proven track record of managing audits, statutory compliance, and cross-border taxation.
  • Prior experience leading and developing finance teams.
  • Strong knowledge of AS, Ind AS, Companies Act, and regulatory frameworks (FEMA, RBI, MCA, etc.).
  • High attention to detail, integrity, and ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
