This role also gives you a seat at the Product Table in thinking through new features, compliant structures and building resilient products that can scale and comply.

Who You Are

You’re a curious, self-driven legal professional with 2–4 years of relevant experience with clarity and confidence in your competencies and also has a keen awareness of what you don’t know. You’re excited to work in a lean, fast-paced environment where you’ll own large India and Global client deals, build legal processes and get end-to-end exposure to advisory on product, data, commercial, and corporate legal matters.

Outcomes Expected

Month 1: Learn the RopesGet up to speed on HyperVerge’s business, products, and legal operations. Understand our contract types, compliance approach, and negotiation process. Commence reviews and negotiations that an experienced member will hand hold you on.

Months 2-4–: Start Owning WorkTake complete ownership of routine contracts (NDAs, MSAs, vendor agreements). Conduct training sessions for cross functional teams, work on strategic projects, advise different verticals at HyperVerge.

Month 4: Onwards: Build Legal MuscleLead end-to-end negotiations for routine contracts. Drive annual privacy & IP compliance audits. .. Contribute to process improvements and mentor interns/junior hires; set & review quarterly Team Goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead client / vendor agreement negotiation calls, translating legal positions into practical options to structure commercially viable, risk-balanced deals.
  • Join (or lead) client / vendor negotiation calls, translating legal positions into practical options
  • Monitor DPDP, GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, RBI, and sector-specific requirements; draft data-flow maps and gap-remediation plans. Update internal privacy policies, consent language, and retention schedules.
  • Contribute to internal compliance, IP protection, and risk management frameworks
  • Embed with product teams to review new features at design stage for legal / privacy implications.
  • Deliver training sessions workshops for Sales, Ops, and Engineering. Create FAQs and cheat-sheets that demystify legal concepts for non-lawyers.
  • Stay updated on evolving legal and regulatory landscapes and proactively inform internal stakeholders
  • Track emerging tech-law trends (AI regulation, deep-fake bans, biometric privacy) and actively advise on opportunities, compliances and strategic impacts.
  • Represent HyperVerge at industry panels or author blog posts to position the company as a compliant, forward-thinking AI player.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining internal legal processes and templates
  • Provide strategic legal inputs during product development and client onboarding

Requirements:

  • 2–4 years of experience in an in-house team or law firm with a focus in TMT, Fintech, or General Corporate.
  • LL.B. required (LL.M. or certifications in data privacy/fintech are a plus)
  • Strong skills in legal drafting and negotiation
  • Understanding of software licensing, technology transfers, and data privacy
  • Clear, confident communication—able to simplify legal concepts for non-legal teams
