About The Role:
The Senior Manager/Director, Partner Management will manage Hippo’s strategic partnerships across the new construction ecosystem, including home builders, mortgage lenders and similar companies supporting all aspects of buying a new home throughout the nation.
You will oversee the day-to-day operations as well as strategic initiatives supporting key partner relationships. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams at Hippo and interact with partners to drive partner onboarding and scaling efforts. You will be in charge of successful integration with partner systems, training relevant partner stakeholders, and driving optimal business outcomes for both Hippo and its partners.
The role will require close coordination with Hippo's Agency and Insurance teams, as well as our Technology (Product Management and Engineering) teams, Legal, Finance, etc., to represent Hippo’s external partners and own their success alongside us.
You will manage partner relationships to ensure long-term success through proactive relationship management and performance monitoring. As we continue to rapidly scale our partner ecosystem, you will build out the team managing these relationships at all levels.
What You’ll Do:
- Ensure the success of your partnerships by defining KPIs and growth targets by which we will measure success
- Engage partners via regular updates, performance management meetings and QBRs (where applicable) to continuously improve business outcomes against Hippo and partner goals, as well as identify and prioritize challenges to jointly overcome
- Work closely with Hippo’s and partners’ technology teams (Product Management and Engineering) to integrate relevant Hippo and partner systems throughout the partnership lifecycle; triage and communicate issues with a keen sense of when to escalate internally + externally and with the appropriate level of criticality; provide signal to Hippo’s tech teams on partner requirements to inform product roadmap
- Develop and execute partner training programs to drive engagement and business results through deep and continuous collaboration with relevant partner stakeholders
- Partner with Hippo’s Marketing team to develop robust go-to-market and PR campaigns with partners with defined goals and KPIs
- Collaborate with Hippo’s Agency team and other stakeholders to drive and track sales outcomes and partner impact based on overall business objectives (both top line and bottom line) for Hippo and its partners
- Negotiate amendments and renewals to contracts as the partnerships grow and evolve with changing business priorities on both Ramp and the partners’ side
Must Haves:
- 6-10+ years in partner-facing roles in the home building, mortgage lending or related space
- Bachelor's degree (Master’s preferred)
- Clear communication, structured thinking, organization, and project management skills
- Experience managing large, complex external relationships
- Strong collaboration skills and track record of building relationships across all levels of a company, internally and with a company’s strategic partners
- Strong negotiation skills, with an emphasis on identifying each party’s key priorities and finding win-win solutions
- Experience defining user-friendly product experiences in collaboration with Product Management and technical teams
- Experience with Partner Marketing and a proven track record of launching and scaling co-marketing
- Ability to drive to execution with speed and based on data and quantitative insights; strong analytical skills with excellent problem-solving abilities
- Ability to flourish with minimal guidance, be proactive, and handle uncertainty and ambiguity
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
- Willingness to travel, when necessary
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a high-growth or startup environment
- MBA or another advanced degree
