ABOUT THE ROLE

The Regional Compliance Manager – APAC - supports the effective deployment of the Group Compliance framework across the Asia Pacific region.

The role acts as a regional operational support function and deputy to Group Compliance, ensuring consistent deployment of compliance policies, training, processes, and tools, while fully respecting that accountability and decision‑making for Business Area compliance matters remain with the respective BACOs.

This is a hands‑on, operational role requiring a proactive and autonomous mindset, aimed at supporting BACOs by taking over day‑to‑day execution and coordination tasks without impacting their authority or scope.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Regional compliance support & coordination

  • Serve as a first operational point of contact for routine compliance questions in the region.
  • Provide pragmatic, business-oriented compliance support to regional management and operational teams.
  • Escalate sensitive, complex, or high-risk matters promptly to the relevant BACO and/or Group Compliance.
  • Act within a support and coordination role, with final decisions remaining with the BACOs.

2. Business support & process implementation

  • Support Business Areas in implementing Group compliance policies, processes, and controls.
  • Ensure compliance integration work in connection with acquired entities
  • Assist with the rollout of new compliance tools and systems.
  • Identify implementation challenges and propose pragmatic, business‑oriented solutions.
  • Ensure feedback from the region is communicated back to Group Compliance and BACOs.

3. Communication, reporting & regulatory awareness

  • Coordinate regional compliance communications and policy rollouts.
  • Act as liaison between Group Compliance, BACOs, and regional stakeholders.
  • Contribute to Group-level reporting and documentation.
  • Support and manage translations of documents
  • Monitor local and regional regulatory developments and escalate potential impacts to Group Compliance and the BACOs.
  • Support compliance risk assessments, audits, or investigations upon request of the BACO or Group Compliance.

4. Training & awareness

  • Deliver compliance training sessions (onboarding, refresher, ad-hoc) across APAC, both in person and virtually.
  • Coordinate rollout of mandatory e‑learning and awareness campaigns.
  • Adapt global training materials to regional specificities, in alignment with Group Compliance.
  • Actively promote a strong compliance and integrity culture through regular engagement with the business.

Desired Skills

JOBHOLDER REQUIREMENTS

  • Master’s degree in Law, Business, Compliance, , or a comparable field.
  • Approximately 5 years of professional experience in compliance, legal, risk, audit, or a related function.
  • Experience in a multinational or regional environment is strongly preferred.
  • Exposure to training delivery, policy implementation, audits, or investigations is an asset.
  • Highly proactive, hands-on, and autonomous working style.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to translate compliance requirements into practical business guidance.
  • Structured, reliable, and solution-oriented mindset.
  • Strong intercultural sensitivity and stakeholder management skills.
  • Willingness to travel regularly and work closely with the business.
  • Fluency in English required; additional regional languages are a plus.
