Senior Robotics Engineer (f/m/d) – Systems and Applications

Hexagon Robotics is a division of Hexagon – a global leader in precision measurement. The division develops humanoid robots for industrial sectors to address labor shortages and accelerate the transition from automation to autonomy. Our first humanoid, AEON, was launched in June 2025 and is already in pilots with five customers.

We are looking for a Senior Robotics Engineer with a versatile skillset, to design and develop robust mission-critical software for Aeon, Hexagon’s humanoid robot.

Your Mission

  • Build the tools and systems that require bridging across different robotics specializations
  • Use a pragmatic approach to quickly explore, validate and integrate various technologies
  • Combine low-level robotics subsytems into valuable behaviours that can easily be adapted and deployed by our Field Application Engineers
  • Work closely with specialized teams ensuring the subsystems fulfill the needs of the behaviour
  • Implement and maintain integration tests for regression testing on behaviour level
  • Work in a multicultural and interdisciplinary environment developing a novel robot from prototype to serial production
  • Being part of an R&D division with startup spirit in a globally active company: we work in an iterative fashion to solve complex real-world problems at the frontier of robotics

Your Skillset

Must have:

  • Strong fundamentals in Modern C++
  • Comfortable working in CMake and Python
  • Production experience with multiple domains of robotics subsystems
  • Passion for developing simple, robust software to solve complex problems
  • Hands-on and persistent: have an idea and bring it all the way to production
  • Motivated to learn new systems and be at the cutting edge of industrial robotics

Experience with any of the following is an advantage:

  • Developing and maintaining a complex codebase with high reliability requirements
  • Wider exposure to a robotics software stack, from build systems to image pipelines
  • Soft or hard realtime systems, distributed systems and HPC
  • Experience with Catch2 or gtest
  • ROS2 basics: record, replay, subscribe, publish, visualise
