Linux System Administrator

Hexagon Robotics is a division of Hexagon – a global leader in precision measurement. The division develops humanoid robots for industrial sectors to address labor shortages and accelerate the transition from automation to autonomy. Our first humanoid, AEON, was launched in June 2025 and is already in pilots with five customers.

As a Linux System Administrator, you will take ownership of the full R&D workstation lifecycle, managing provisioning, centralized configuration, and security hardening for Linux end-user devices. You will leverage your expertise to balance rigorous standardization with developer flexibility, collaborating closely with Group IT to evolve infrastructure policies while providing hands-on support for fleet monitoring and device management.

Your Mission

• Own the Linux workstation lifecycle from provisioning to decommissioning
• Own and evolve centralized configuration/update management for Linux end-user devices in R&D.
• Balance standardization with developer flexibility
• Define and enforce security baselines and hardening standards
• Provide hands-on support for Linux device setup and tooling
• Collaborate closely with the Group IT team on policies, tooling, integrations & issue resolution

Your Skillset

• Degree in Software Engineering or a related technical field.
• Proven experience administering Linux endpoints in a professional environment.
• Strong expertise in endpoint management frameworks for monitoring and fleet configuration under Linux.
• Deep understanding of the Linux ecosystem (Ubuntu / Nix)
