The Position: Reporting to the Senior Manager Data Analytics this role we are looking for a Data Engineer to join our global data analytics team, in a role located in Perth WA. As a Data Engineer your role is key for the delivery of Hexagon’s One Platform interoperable data vision.
This position will work collaboratively with our global software development teams, product owners and product managers – to drive data analytics tools and software solutions that enable our customers to become more efficient and impactful in their business. We are building platforms and tools to deploy into real time customer environments to support efficiency and improved business strategies
As a Data Engineer your role will include but not limited to the following responsibilities;
- Work with BI report developers to identify gaps or improvements to data definitions.
- Identify and assist in defining new high-value data definitions for data science applications
- Review, validate and contribute to technical documentation relating to the deployment of new data definition releases.
About you
We are looking for an experienced Software/Data/QA Engineer who is ready for the next step in their career, where your knowledge, skills, experience and passion can be brought to the forefront of your role. Your experience in taking solutions from concept to deployment and operational support, will be integral in this growing space at Hexagon.
In addition we are seeking those with the following qualifications and skills;
- Tertiary Qualified in Data, Software Engineering or similar engineering field
- Prior Experience in software development from concept through to operational deployment and ongoing operational support – development of technology for a broad user interface
- Understanding of the principles, tools and programs required for data engineering, reporting, analytics, visualisation and/or machine learning.
- Experience analysing data and with data engineering projects, inclusive of development technology documentation
- Experience with coding such as SQL, NoSQL, Python, DBT models.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and Linux OS systems
