When an entire city needs to be rendered into a 3D model in-flight, utilities buried deep under soil need to be uncovered, highly complex infrastructure projects need to be implemented and even when crime scene investigation needs to be documented – that’s Leica Geosystems, part of Hexagon. More than 5,000 employees in 33 countries help us develop the latest technologies for Reality Capture, Machine Control, GNSS, Photogrammetry, and other Site Positioning technologies.

We are seeking a Construction Application Specialist (CAS) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a combination of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical knowledge and will have excellent problem-solving skills. This role will require 70% or more travel, so a willingness and ability to travel is a must. The understanding of construction jobsite workflows or survey is a plus.

Desired Skills

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with the installation and maintenance of machine control systems on construction equipment and machinery
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electric issues on machine control systems
  • Assist with the 3D setup of a construction site utilizing the latest positioning technologies
  • Provide support to team members to ensure smooth and efficient operations
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment
  • Follow standard operating procedures and safety protocols
  • Participate in on-site trainings and provide feedback on equipment performance
  • Travel to various job sites as required (70% or more)
  • Be trained on future machine control and site positioning technologies, such as lasers, GPS, Robotic Total Station, Reality Capture, and Photogrammetry

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • 2D and 3D Heavy Construction Machine Control experience as installer or operator
  • Construction job site or survey experience (preferred)
  • A strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and electric systems
  • Heavy Equipment technician background
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proactive to self-learn and research information on new products or technologies
  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Willingness and ability to travel (70% or more)
  • Must have the ability to work remotely and access to a reliable internet connection
