Overview

NovAtel is looking for a Repair Technologist to join the Repair Team. As a Repair Technologist, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing NovAtel products. The successful candidate must be a team player with strong troubleshooting and soldering skills, experience with various test equipment, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment where multitasking is required.

This position will be based in Calgary.

Responsibilities

As our Repair Technologist, your responsabilities will be:

  • Troubleshoot NovAtel products to identify the cause of failures.
  • Perform repairs to the individual component level.
  • Ensure outstanding quality of repairs.
  • Accurate data entry in the NovAtel repair database.
  • Generate customer-facing repair reports.
  • Interact with customers when required.
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support and participate in failure analysis activities.
  • Develop and maintain repair manuals.
  • Assist various internal teams with multiple rework requests.
  • Perform RMA Coordinator duties when required (as backup).

Qualifications

Must-Have:

  • Electronics Technologist Diploma or equivalent.
  • 3+ years’ direct hands-on experience with Digital & RF circuits troubleshooting to the component level.
  • Deep understanding of electronics schematics and assembly drawings.
  • Strong soldering skills (formal certification preferred).
  • Experience using various test equipment (Oscilloscopes, Spectrum Analyzers, Signal Generators, multi-meters, etc.).
  • Ability to work with hand tools and perform disassembly and assembly of products.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Self-starter, assertive, proactive and takes initiative.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.

Nice-to-Have:

  • Experience working in a LEAN manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of GNSS technology.
