We're looking to hire a remote Product Manager, Nastran in the United States, Italy, United Kingdom, or France.

The Design & Engineering (D&E) business unit is responsible for HMI’s Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) software technology, which enables engineers to validate and optimize their designs using virtual prototypes. Customers in almost every industry use our CAE software solutions to have greater confidence in their designs and to ensure that those products can be manufactured as intended.
This is a remote position that requires the ability to work effectively from a home office with reliable internet connectivity. Employees must be able to perform each essential job function satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation. The role involves frequent periods of stationary computer work, manual dexterity for keyboard use, and regular communication with colleagues and customers. On occasion, light lifting of up to 20 pounds may be required.

Job Responsibilities
Reporting to the Senior Manager of Product Management, the Product Manager plays a pivotal role in shaping and executing product strategies, aligning them with customer needs, and driving product innovation. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products that meet market demands and drive the company’s growth. The ideal candidate combines deep knowledge in structural analysis, simulation software, and engineering with proven product management capabilities and a passion for solving real-world industrial challenges through advanced simulation and analysis software.
Product Strategy & Execution
- Define and execute comprehensive product strategies and roadmaps for product lines, ensuring alignment with overarching business objectives.
- Partner with the Senior Manager of Product Management to translate market trends and customer feedback into strategic product plans.
Market Analysis & Customer Insights
- Conduct in-depth market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities for product differentiation and innovation.
- Gather and analyze customer feedback to inform product decisions and prioritize product improvements that deliver maximum value.
- Develop and present business plans in collaboration with Sales and Business Development teams.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with product development and quality assurance teams to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality products.
- Work closely with marketing to ensure product messaging aligns with customer needs and market positioning.
- Engage with Strategic Partnership Manager to identify, evaluate, and manage new and existing partnerships with third parties.
Customer Engagement & Advocacy
- Serve as the voice of the customer, ensuring that products effectively address real-world engineering challenges.
- Engage directly with customers through feedback sessions and industry events to build strong relationships and gather actionable insights.
Packaging and Pricing
- Collaborate with the Sales and Pricing Operations teams to define licensing and pricing strategies to optimize product performance.
Product Scope
- Take full ownership of managing the MSC Nastran product line, driving its development, positioning, and overall success in the market.
- Act as the dedicated product manager for CAEfatigue, ensuring its strategic alignment and growth alongside MSC Nastran.
- Support the promotion of MSC Nastran and CAEfatigue by creating compelling demonstrations and workflows, leveraging the Patran, MSC Apex, and CAEfatigue user interfaces to showcase product capabilities effectively.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in product management, product development, or related technical roles within the CAE/FEA software domain.
- Demonstrated experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools, including MSC Nastran, MSC Apex, and Patran (or similar software).
- Strong analytical skills for assessing market trends, customer feedback, and competitive landscapes.
- Proven ability to lead complex cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
