Overview
Hexagon's Autonomy & Positioning division, is looking for a Agriculture Engineering Intern to join our high-tech engineering and manufacturing company for the period of May 05, 2025 to April 30, 2026. To support our focus on delivering high quality products, we are looking for an enthusiastic internship student to add to our Agriculture Engineering team. This role will focus on Software Development and Software/System Verification and Validation for features and products either in the field or in development. By working with world-leading experts you will gain valuable experience in Programming Code, Software Quality, Verification, Validation, as well as how product and sw feature development that is targeted to a specific market area works.
The Location: Hexagon is a global company with locations around the world. This position is based onsite in Calgary, AB.
Responsibilities
As an Agriculture Engineering Intern, responsibilities include:
- Support customer support cases escalated from Applications Engineering
- Investigate and recommend design fixes for feature enhancements or bugs in C++
- Design, execute and maintain verification and validation scripts written in Python
- Deploy and monitor tests in a continuous integration system (Jenkins)
- Collect and analyze real-world GNSS/INS data including real-world scenarios at a farm with a tractor or UTV
- Refine functional and performance requirements for validation traceability
- Document test design, specifications, runs, results, and compliance to requirements
- Troubleshoot test failures and investigate issues for root cause analysis
- Develop & enhance technical documentation surrounding existing and new infrastructure
- Participate in process improvement activities
Qualifications
Must-Have:
- Registered in the Engineering Internship/Co-op program and have completed at least your 2nd or 3rd year of studies by the start of your work term
- Enrolled in Computer Science, Geomatics, Computer Software Engineering or any field related to software development at a recognized post secondary institution
- Available for a minimum 12 month work term, 37.5 hours a week
- Strong academic credentials
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written
- Class 5 (or provincial equivalent) drivers license

Nice-to-Have:
- Agriculture technology or farming background
- Experience with CODING LANGUAGES, such as Python and C++
- Interest in SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT, PRECISION AGRICULTURE, VERIFICATION/VALIDATION and/or data analysis
- Familiarity with Software Development Lifecycle Tools; such as GIT, JIRA, Jenkins & Test Case Management Tools
- Knowledge of GPS/GNSS/INS
