Purpose of Position:

As a Cloud QA Engineer, you will have a large impact on the evolution of our cloud platform and will explore an extensive list of new technologies that will drive innovation across our products. This is an important role that will include architecting automated solutions for QA services, as well as implementation of automated testing solutions, cloud infrastructure testing, and cloud performance testing. You will help in leading Engineering teams in the process of identifying, reproducing and documenting defects. You will drive testing automation and standardization while maintaining quality engineering best practices.

Major Areas of Responsibility:

  • Consistently improve test automation infrastructure, test data, and test coverage for cloud-based applications and cloud infrastructure on Azure, AWS, or similar platforms.
  • Assist with testing and automation strategy, creating common test frameworks, defining and managing test processes including test data generation, defect management. performance testing, and reporting.
  • Partner with development teams to define and build QA tests for cloud components and systems.
  • Translate business requirements into functional and non-functional test cases for thorough coverage of features, parallel to and at the same time as feature development.
  • Research, recommend, and implement tools for test automation, specifically as it pertains to cloud-based applications and infrastructure on Azure, AWS, or similar platforms.
  • Track and document defects and test results, collaborate with development teams to ensure timely resolution

Knowledge and Experience - Required:

  • 2+ years' experience working with Test Automation
  • Experience testing and debugging public cloud-based microservices (Rest-API’s) on Azure, AWS, or similar platforms.
  • Strong understanding of regression testing practices
  • An understanding of, and experience in debugging and use of APIs in distributed systems
  • Experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)
  • Performance tuning and benchmarking for Cloud Systems
  • Experience with test automation frameworks such as Selenium.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Math, Science or Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Knowledge and Experience - Desired:

  • Experience with multiple operating systems - Linux, Unix, Windows, iOS, Android
  • Experience with Hardware/Embedded testing
  • REST API testing using Postman or similar tools
  • Good working experience with CI/CD & Dev-Ops tools such as Git, JIRA, Atlassian Bamboo, Jenkins, and Docker.
  • Experience with Test Rail.
  • A strong understanding of enterprise infrastructure and enterprise application components such as servers, storage, computing, and networking.
  • Knowledge of or experience in the mining industry is a plus.
  • Understanding of security practices and vulnerability detection and resolution

  • No travel required.
