What's the role?

We are expanding our team and looking for an experience, hands on software engineering technical program manager (TPM) to drive delivery for automotive OEM programs involving connected navigation and location-based services. You will operate at the intersection of software engineering, system architecture, and program execution—owning end-to-end technical delivery outcomes while being deeply comfortable engaging on design reviews, architectural decisions, and real-time performance tradeoffs.

You will partner with cross-functional teams spanning Engineering, Product, Professional Services, Technical Support, and Program/Project teams, and you will work directly with OEM engineering organizations to translate requirements into executable plans, align architecture and delivery, manage risks, and ensure production-grade outcomes.

Your mission will be to ensure OEM customers successfully adopt, integrate, and scale our location-based capabilities and connected navigation solutions—from early technical scoping through integration, validation, launch, and post-launch stabilization—while driving disciplined technical decision-making and delivery excellence.

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Owning the end-to-end Customer Success Plan (i.e., delivery plan) for OEM navigation/LBS programs: scope, milestones, dependencies, integration readiness, and launch criteria.
  • Driving execution across multiple workstreams (client, services, backend, data, security/privacy, tooling), ensuring clear ownership, timelines, and measurable outcomes.
  • Establishing program operating rhythms: RAID, executive reporting, governance, technical reviews, and go/no-go decision gates.
  • Leading and facilitating architecture discussions and tradeoff decisions for real-time navigation/LBS systems (latency, throughput, reliability, offline/online behavior, caching, degradation modes).
  • Engaging deeply with engineering teams on distributed systems boundaries, API design (REST/gRPC), versioning/backward compatibility, performance profiling, and resiliency patterns.
  • Translating non-functional requirements (latency, availability, data freshness, privacy, security) into actionable engineering plans and verification criteria.
  • Guiding OEMs through design, integration, validation, and deployment—acting as the technical orchestrator across internal teams and customer engineering stakeholders.
  • Managing complex integration topics common to automotive navigation environments (IVI constraints, connectivity variability, regional requirements, release trains, certification cycles).
  • Ensuring integration deliverables are production-ready: documentation, acceptance tests, integration guides, issue triage and closure plans.
  • Anticipating and managing technical risks early (architecture, dependencies, performance, security/privacy, data readiness).
  • Running structured issue management: triaging, root cause coordination, mitigation plans, and clear stakeholder communication.
  • Mobilizing the right teams fast; escalating with crisp problem statements, options, and recommended decisions.
  • Building trusted relationships with OEM engineering leadership and internal senior stakeholders.

Who are you?

You have a blend of strong technical depth, program leadership, and customer-facing execution skills—with the ability to engage credibly in software engineering discussions and guide real-time architectural decisions, while running disciplined delivery across multiple teams.

You will have a strong chance of success on this role if you possess the following qualifications, skills and competencies:

  • 12+ years of total experience with at least 8+ years of relevant experience in technical program management, software engineering, systems engineering, or closely related roles (automotive or real-time systems strongly preferred).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, in related fields or equivalent practical experience.
  • Demonstrated hands-on technical background: ability to read code, reason about architecture, and lead technical tradeoffs with senior engineers.
  • Experience delivering complex software in one or more of: real-time/low-latency systems; distributed services and cloud platforms; embedded/edge systems or automotive IVI environments.
  • Proven capability to drive end-to-end execution across cross-functional teams and multiple stakeholders in a B2B environment.
  • Strong understanding of location-based services and connected navigation concepts (routing/guidance, map data, traffic, telemetry, geospatial APIs, offline/online behavior, data freshness).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in Mandarin and English
  • Automotive OEM experience (program delivery, integration cycles, SOP readiness, certification constraints) is nice to have.
  • Up to ~20% travel as required for OEM workshops, integration milestones, and key program events.
