Hadrian - Manufacturing the Future

Hadrian is building autonomous factories that help aerospace and defense companies manufacture rockets, satellites, jets, and ships up to 10x faster and up to 2x cheaper. By combining advanced software, robotics, and full-stack manufacturing, we are reinventing how America produces its most critical parts.

Valued at $1.6B, we’re accelerating our mission with the launch of Factory 3 in Mesa, Arizona, a 290,000-square-foot facility creating 350 new jobs. We are expanding rapidly to support thousands of future hires, launching Hadrian Maritime to expand into naval production, and introducing a Factory-as-a-Service model that delivers complete systems instead of individual parts.

Hadrian is backed by leading investors including T. Rowe Price, Lux Capital, Founders Fund, and Andreessen Horowitz, our fast-growing team is united around reindustrializing American manufacturing for the 21st century and beyond.

The Role:

We’re looking for a Head of Additive Manufacturing Supplier Quality Engineering to own supplier quality systems and supplier development across our additive manufacturing supply base. This person will lead a small team and serve as the technical authority for qualifying suppliers, setting quality expectations, and ensuring supplier processes consistently meet Hadrian’s requirements for performance, traceability, and delivery. They will work closely with Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Atlas to translate program needs into supplier controls, audit plans, inspection strategies, and clear readiness criteria for scaling production.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead supplier quality strategy for additive manufacturing (AM) suppliers, including supplier selection, qualification, performance management, and continuous improvement.

  • Manage and develop a team of Supplier Quality Engineers, establishing audit cadence, scorecards, corrective action processes, and supplier development plans.

  • Establish and maintain supplier compliance with applicable quality standards (e.g., AS9100, Nadcap, customer-specific requirements), including audit readiness and special process controls.

  • Define and implement inspection and validation strategies for AM components (e.g., FAI, control plans, sampling plans, metrology, APQP/PPAP, change control).

  • Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and related stakeholders to ensure supplier readiness, scalability, traceability, and on-time delivery aligned with production schedules.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related technical field (or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience).

  • Progressive experience in supplier quality, manufacturing quality, or quality systems within aerospace, advanced manufacturing, or a regulated industry.

  • Experience with additive manufacturing processes and associated quality controls, including special process management and traceability requirements.

  • Demonstrated experience conducting supplier audits, leading root cause and corrective action (RCCA/CAPA), and driving measurable supplier performance improvements.

  • Working knowledge of industry quality standards and tools (e.g., AS9100, APQP/PPAP, PFMEA, SPC, capability studies, digital QMS platforms).

What Will Set You Apart:

  • Professional certifications such as ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), AS9100 Lead Auditor, or Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt).

  • Familiarity with additive manufacturing standards (e.g., ASTM F42, ISO 52900, SAE AMS 7XXX series) and Nadcap requirements.

  • Experience supporting the transition of additive manufacturing products from development to full-rate production.

  • Experience with advanced AM inspection technologies, metrology systems, and capital equipment planning to expand supplier capacity and capability.

Compensation:

For this role, the target salary range is $220,000 - $250,000 (actual range may vary based on experience).

This is the lowest to highest salary we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee's pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans for employees

  • 401k

  • Relocation support may be provided for certain situations, based on business need.

  • Flexible vacation policy
