Hadrian - Manufacturing the Future

Hadrian is building autonomous factories that help aerospace and defense companies make rockets, jets, and satellites 10x faster and 2x cheaper. Our CEO, Chris Power, discusses the importance of what we're building in this video.

We are a lean but mighty team (and growing!) people that are passionate about building critical infrastructure to support the nation and the advancement of humanity.

We've raised >$200m to achieve this vision, with multiple rounds from Lux Capital, A16Z, Founders Fund, Construct Capital, Caffeinated Capital and more.

We use AI and Robotics to automate and scale factories that are globally cost competitive and future-proof from the dramatic skilled labor shortage that is facing the Advanced Industrial Base.

Hadrian works with startups, Primes and Tier 1/2s in all markets to cost-down, scale or otherwise enable them to hit production rates on critical programs in Rocketry, Satellites, Shipbuilding, Commercial and Military aircraft and other core, mission critical industries.

Director of New Product Introduction (NPI)

As the Director of New Product Introduction (NPI), you will be responsible for the first tollgate in the production cycle (CAM and CMM programming + the associated iteration cycles). Hadrian’s manufacturing strategy hinges on standardization and reliability. We design processes so that entry-level technicians can execute them with limited training, minimizing the need for seasoned operators to compensate for programming or process errors.

1. Defining Manufacturing Strategy:

  • Interpreting bespoke customer requirements and translating them into a clear manufacturing approach leveraging Hadrian’s unique system – standardize response to customer inputs and streamline operational workflow/output.

  • Using production feedback/data to refine approaches and standardize factory inputs. Owning and reeducating customer facing DFM toolkit, operational processes, and software automation/firewalls.

  • Defining product groups and the associated configuration structures to provide highly predictable manufacturing workflows

  • Aligning workflows for CMM and CNC programming

2. System Maturity + Capability Development

  • Mapping capability and configuration maturity; partnering with automation to make existing capabilities “boringly predictable.” Unlocking resources to buildout future capabilities and lowering technical floor for CNC/CMM programming execution. Ensuring “copy/paste” standards at scale.

  • Creating structure for and driving technical readiness assessments (including associated automation roadmap) for new capabilities.

3. Business Plan for Transactional Programming

  • Define, build, edit, and scale operational system and organization structure for remote/transactional programming – Inclusive of contractor structure

4. Execution + Team Development

  • Accountable for operational KPI success and improvement

  • Positioning the organization to support multi-site operation including role breakdown and associated skills/development matrices

  • Developing team of leaders supporting internal and external operations

  • Working with workforce development team on fundamental changes to workflow/process that require retraining the workforce

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related STEM field.

  • 5+ years of experience in advanced manufacturing, aerospace, precision machining, or equivalent high-complexity, regulated production environments

  • 3+ years of proven leadership in a multi-disciplinary and technical manufacturing organization; preferably experience leading leaders

  • Demonstrated ability to translate customer specs and engineering drawings into standardized, repeatable manufacturing processes and workflows.

  • Proven aptitude for rapid, pragmatic problem-solving in manufacturing environments.

  • Ability to balance standardization with technical depth, especially when creating copy/paste models for technical workflows

  • Success driving manufacturing capability or system roadmaps, including automation and maturity modeling.

Benefits:

  • 100% coverage of platinum medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans for employees

  • 401k

  • Relocation stipend if you’re moving from outside of LA

  • Flexible vacation policy
