About The Role
As the Head of Strategy & Key Initiatives, you’ll be a trusted thought partner to the CEO of Grubhub and executive team, owning the most business-critical projects across the company. You’ll define and drive corporate strategy, lead high-impact initiatives, and serve as the connective tissue across business units. You'll also represent the company externally with key partners and internally at leadership cadences like MBRs and QBRs. This is a high-visibility role for a strategic operator with excellent analytical, presentation, and stakeholder management skills. This position demands a strategic thinker with a strong ability to execute, forge cross-functional relationships, and improve operational efficiencies at scale. In this role, you will report to the CEO of Grubhub.
The Impact You Will Make
Corporate Strategy Development: Partner with the CEO and the Executive Management Team to define and evolve company strategy, assess new market opportunities, and inform long-term planning. A seat at the table with the executive team of a fast-scaling tech company.
Key Initiative Leadership: Identify, structure, and lead cross-functional strategic initiatives that drive growth, efficiency, and innovation.
Executive Reporting & Cadence: Drive business reviews (MBRs, WBRs, QBRs), setting the standard for how performance is tracked, communicated, and actioned across the organization.
Analytical Decision Support: Use data to assess business performance, uncover insights, and influence decision-making at the executive level.
External Partnership Management: Represent the company in strategic discussions with partners such as Amazon and other enterprise clients or platforms.
Organizational Alignment: Collaborate across Product, Operations, Growth, Engineering, Finance, and GTM teams to align strategic priorities and drive execution.
Board & Investor Communication: Support the CEO in preparing materials for board meetings, investor updates, and strategic communications.
Team & Culture: Influence a culture of accountability, data-driven decision making, and continuous improvement across the leadership team.
What You Bring to the Table
7+ years of experience in management consulting, corporate strategy, strategic operations, or chief of staff-type roles within tech, logistics, or high-growth environments.
Experience in food delivery, technology, logistics, marketplaces or e-commerce sectors.
Proven track record of leading cross-functional, executive-level projects with measurable business impact.
Strong analytical and financial modeling skills; comfortable working with dashboards, KPIs, and metrics.
Exceptional communication and executive presence abilities; able to synthesize complex topics and present to C-level stakeholders and external partners.
Strong project management skills, including the ability to plan, execute, and monitor projects from inception to completion, managing resources, timelines, and stakeholders.
Comfortable operating in ambiguity and rolling up your sleeves to get things done.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Suite) and relevant project management or collaboration tools.
Bachelor’s degree required. MBA is a plus.

The base salary range for this position is below:
Illinois: $189,900-$227,025
Grubhub uses geographic-specific salary structures, which means the salary offered may vary depending on where the job is located. The final salary offer will take into account various factors, such as the candidate's skills, education, training, credentials, and experience.
