More About the Role:
The Strategic Partnerships Director for Campus and Onsite will lead partnership management and business development for our higher education and hotel business. This role will develop and oversee strategies for maintaining and optimizing the relationships that are critical to the retention and growth of our existing client portfolio, as well as our expansion into new verticals and new product lines. This leader will be responsible for originating and executing on opportunities that materially impact group and company performance.
The Impact You Will Make:
Lead and manage relationships with key ecosystem players that are critical to the success of the group.
Navigate complex business situations, foster long-term opportunities, and find creative solutions to challenges that may arise internally, from clients, from partners, or from competitors.
Serve as the point of escalation for high-stakes partner/competitor issues that require executive intervention.
Work with the executive management team and the finance team to develop, evaluate, and implement potential partnership strategies.
Lead multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring strong integration across the organization.
Disseminate partnership strategy across the organization in order to ensure alignment and knowledge-sharing so that all internal functions maintain a consistent, unified posture when interacting with ecosystem players.
Coordinate and communicate efforts across multiple teams, giving direction to various groups and stakeholders across the group and the company.
Develop best practices to track, manage, and optimize resource assignment across partnerships and opportunities.
Mentor and provide guidance on partnership strategy and negotiation to all Campus team members.
Collaborate with functional leaders on overall business strategy–including decisions related to pricing, marketing, and product.
Identify, evaluate, and maintain relationships with providers of complimentary technology whose products and services can be integrated into the Campus suite of solutions.
Negotiate, implement, and oversee relationships with finders, distributors, and resellers of the group’s B2B products.
Prospect, approach, and sell marquee clients to facilitate our entry into new verticals.
What You Bring to the Table:
12+ years experience in business development, strategic partnerships, investment banking, management consulting or similar.
5+ years experience working collaboratively across multiple disciplines (product, legal, finance, partnership management)
Strong track record of closing deals, generating leads, pitching to new clients, and selling in a consultative manner.
Skill at developing complex strategies and communicating them across organizations in an accessible way.
Strong ability to collaborate with C-level executives and across functions including technology, marketing, sales, operations, and finance.
Ability to effectively empathize with, and advocate for, a partner’s interests without losing sight of Grubhub’s interests.
Deeply curious, a great listener, with a passion for seeing things from a partner’s perspective and navigating complex bureaucracies from the outside in.
Track record of negotiating favorable outcomes with both partners and competitors, from positions of both relative strength and relative weakness.
Comfortable and passionate about executing complex deals that don’t have clear roadmaps for success.
Spreadsheet fluency, with the ability to build, understand and debate financial models.
Legal fluency, with the ability to draft term sheets from scratch and navigate contracts.
Familiarity and a network of existing relationships in the areas of Food Service Management, Mobile Credentialing, or Hospitality, is a plus.

Colorado Salary Range: $141k - $183k
New York Salary Range: $155k - $201,500
The Base Pay component of our Total Rewards package is based on a variety of factors including but not limited to: job responsibilities, location, experience and, education/certifications. In addition to the pay component, this role may be eligible for equity and benefits as part of the Total Rewards package. The Total Rewards package will be determined at the time a contingent offer is made.
