As an API Developer on our team, you’ll help design, build, and maintain the APIs that are the foundation of Unacast’s data products. You’ll work closely with experienced developers, learn cutting-edge technologies, and contribute to impactful projects.

What You’ll Do

• Develop and maintain high-quality APIs to support various applications and services.
• Ensure APIs are well-documented, including clear instructions and examples.
• Monitor API performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement optimizations.
• Participate in code reviews to maintain high standards of quality and maintainability.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and understand use cases as needed.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends in API development, recommending improvements and advancements to our current API ecosystem.

Who we think you are

• 1+ year of software development experience.
• Experience with programming languages like Java, Python, Scala, or SQL.
• Knowledge of SQL database design, automation, and efficient querying.
• Familiarity with REST API design principles.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Fluency in English.

• Experience with data analytics and data visualization.
• Basic knowledge of AWS services and JSON/GeoJSON processing.
• You have an interest in geospatial data.
• You are team and customer service oriented, innovative, open-minded to the solution set, and driven to deliver solutions that meet or exceed requirements.
• You believe that simple approaches are better than complex, whenever possible.

This is a remote position that may require occasional travel. Preference for candidates on EST or CST time zones who reside in the following states: CT, FL, GA, IA, IL, IN, MD, MI, NJ, NY, NC, PA, SC, TX, VA, WV

We offer competitive salaries and benefits and unlimited PTO. The typical base salary range for this role is $80,000 to $100,000. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, job level, internal equity and budget. Exact salary offers will be determined by factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, experience and geographic location.
