Get to Know the Team

The MALTA team at Grab establishes and refines the software foundations and infrastructure for all Grab mobile apps, aiming to enhance productivity and deliver stable, scalable, and secure products with top quality and speed. They follow principles of scalable mobile architectures, consolidating reusable assets, pervasive automation, and continuous delivery for all mobile apps.

Get to Know the Role

The MALTA team at Grab focuses on creating and refining the software foundations and infrastructure for all Grab mobile apps. We follow principles of building scalable mobile architectures, consolidating reusable software assets, using automation, and driving continuous delivery for mobile applications.

You will report to the Software Engineering Manager II, Mobile (iOS). This is a paid internship role and is based onsite in Petaling Jaya.

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

• Help develop, and testing backend services.
• Participate in code reviews and help improve the quality of the codebase
• Collaborate with teams to Identify project requirements
• Maintain technical documentation of backend systems
• Troubleshoot and resolve backend issues and bugs

Qualifications

What Essential Skills You Will Need

• You will need to start the internship in August 2025 with a minimum duration of 3 months.
• Currently pursue a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g. Java, Python, C++)
• Experience with backend frameworks and technologies (e.g. Spring, Django, Flask)
• Knowledge of database management systems (e.g. MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB)
• Familiarity with containerization using Docker
