Get to Know the Team

The Commercial Systems team is the engine behind Grab's B2B growth and operational excellence. We own and manage the Salesforce ecosystem, building the sophisticated platform that empowers our teams to drive revenue and cross-sell services across Grab's diverse business verticals. Our mission is to eliminate friction in the sales process by delivering intelligent, automated solutions that provide a unified view of our partners. We combine deep CRM expertise with custom fullstack development to orchestrate complex workflows and system integrations that scale alongside Grab's evolving commercial needs.

Get to Know the Role

As the Engineering Lead, you will oversee the development of our cutting-edge software solutions, leading a team of experienced engineers, and driving technical projects across our organization.

You will report to the Head of Commercial System and work onsite in Grab office based in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia.

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

• You will lead and mentor a team of fullstack developers, promoting a culture of innovation and continuous improvement
• You will collaborate with product managers and partners to define technical requirements and architectural decisions
• You will oversee the entire software development lifecycle, from concept to deployment and maintenance
• You will establish coding standards, development processes, and quality assurance practices
• You will conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members
• You will optimize application performance, security, and reliability
• You will stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends, recommending and implementing improvements as needed
• You will participate in technical decision-making and contribute to the overall technology strategy of the organization
• You will manage project timelines, resources, and deliverables to ensure high-quality releases

Qualifications

What Essential Skills You Will Need

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 7+ years of experience in fullstack development, with experience building and scaling complex web applications.
• Expertise in programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, and APEX (Salesforce), with a deep understanding of enterprise-grade backend logic.
• Proficiency in modern web frameworks and libraries, specifically React, Node.js, and Django.
• AI & Generative AI Proficiency involves experience using Claude Code, Cursor, and Large Language Models (LLMs) in production environments. This includes prompt engineering, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and using AI to automate commercial workflows or sales intelligence.
• Knowledge of database management systems, both SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (DynamoDB, MongoDB), with a focus on data integrity for CRM systems.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, in deploying and managing AI-driven microservices.
• Experience with shift-left testing methodologies, including unit, integration, and automated testing to ensure platform stability.
• Deep understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines to facilitate rapid, reliable deployment cycles.
• Excellent system architecture and design skills, with the ability to create scalable, distributed systems that can handle high-volume commercial data.
• Visionary Mindset with the ability to drive innovation, particularly in how one can use AI to disrupt traditional sales and cross-selling models.
• Familiarity with the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and industry best practices within an Agile environment.
