Get to Know the Role
We are looking for an Android Software Engineer to develop mobile experiences focused on location and maps, used by millions of people across Southeast Asia. In this role, you will collaborate with engineers, designers, and product managers to deliver fast, reliable, and engaging features. This position is based on-site in Singapore and reports to an Engineering Manager.
The Critical Tasks You Will Perform
- Design, develop, and optimize Android features and shared mobile components.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver end-to-end solutions.
- Implement complex UI and intuitive UX, build reusable libraries, and integrate with multiple apps and services.
- Uphold code quality, testing, security, and clear documentation.
- Monitor app health and performance, analyze metrics, and drive reliability improvements.
- Explore and propose new designs and architectures for scale and developer velocity.
- Brainstorm ideas, identify problems, and deliver pragmatic solutions focused on user impact and performance.
Qualifications
What Essential Skills Will You Need
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, and 4+ years building Android apps.
- Proficiency in Kotlin and/or Java, with a solid grasp of design patterns, multithreading, and clean coding practices.
- Strong foundation in data structures and algorithms to design efficient, scalable mobile systems.
- Experience integrating APIs and third-party SDKs, with a sound understanding of networking, auth, and versioning.
- Build complex, high-quality UI and intuitive UX, with attention to accessibility and polish.
- Commitment to code quality, testing, security, and clear documentation.
- Deep understanding of CI / CD for Android, including Gradle, automated testing, and release pipelines.
- Proven collaboration with engineers, designers, and product managers to turn requirements into shipped features.
- High ownership, analytical and system design skills.
- Bonus Experience with LiDAR, sensors, or mapping technologies.
