The Communications team is storytellers at Grab, shaping our global narrative across diverse audiences, from media and influencers to policymakers and the broader community. The Communications team strategically partners with all business functions to ensure stakeholders understand and champion Grab's vision and goals
Get to Know the Role
You will drive our communication efforts for our Transport services, working collaboratively with relevant stakeholders and to provide advisory to our business team for communication-related. This includes crafting press materials, managing media engagement, addressing issues swiftly, and promoting stories that emphasize affordability, safety, and the positive impact on driver-partners. By partnering with key opinion leaders and advocates, you will help build inclusive narratives that resonate with diverse audiences and strengthen our brand reputation.
You will report to the Head of Communications. This role will be based on-site in the Jakarta office.
The Critical Tasks You Will Perform
- Execute Transport PR plans in coordination with Marketing, Operations, Public Affairs, and Public Relations agencies.
- Integrate PR activities with product launches, promotional campaigns, and new feature rollouts to maximize awareness and adoption.
- Draft and localize press materials (press releases, talking points, issue FAQs).
- Support crisis triaging and fast-turnaround response for issues tied to Transport operations.
- Manage day-to-day press engagement and proactively monitor for emerging reputational risks.
- Help shape Transport narratives around affordability, safety, and driver-partner impact.
- Work with relevant KOLs and transport advocates to strengthen positive brand storytelling.
Qualifications
What Essential Skills You Will Need
- 5+ years of experience in media/public relations and digital communication, both in an agency or in-house.
- Excellent communication skills, including writing, storytelling, and critical thinking, applied to create impactful and inclusive content and strategies.
- Established network with tier-1 media senior reporters and key influencers.
- Proven collaboration with cross-functional teams (e.g., social media, legal, product, marketing, partnerships).
- Fluent in both Indonesian and English (written and spoken).
- Thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
- Agile individual who possess creative, and willing to experiment with new storytelling formats.
- Experience in transport, public services, or high-visibility sectors with complex stakeholder ecosystems is a plus, but not required.
