Job Description
Get to Know the Team
- Clickstream Intelligence Platform (Scribe) is Grab's in-house app instrumentation and insights platform that captures and analyzes user clickstream activity across all Grab apps. The platform supports observability, real-time personalization, and business analytics by processing tens of billions of events per hour at petabyte scale.
- Customer Data Platform (CDP) enables Grab Teams to onboard and register Grab's customer data and make it available for Online Serving, ML Models, Segmentation, and Real Time targeting to power personalization use cases across the company. Our platform is used across many mission-critical Grab services such as app personalization, experimentation, ads serving, and marketing.
Get to Know the Role
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer for either the Scribe or CDP team that that has multiple different technical stacks:
- Programming Languages: Python, Go, Scala
- Data Streaming & Processing: Kafka, Apache Flink, Apache Spark
- Data Infrastructure & Tooling: Event gateways, Schema validation tools, Instrumentation testing frameworks
You will report to Engineering Manager in Singapore and work onsite at Grab Vietnam office (CMC CREATIVE SPACE, D.7, HCMC).
The Critical Tasks You Will Perform
- Design and improve clickstream data pipelines—from event ingestion to insight delivery—and contribute to services/tools for understanding user behavior.
- Build scalable platform capabilities for user data onboarding, online serving, and real-time data pipelines/architecture.
Qualifications
What Essential Skills You Will Need
- Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related undergraduate degree.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in Software Engineering.
- Proficient in at least one of the following programming languages: Python, Go, or Scala
- Experience with data processing technologies such as Apache Flink (for real time processing) and Apache Spark (for batch processing)
- Experience developing large-scale backend or data systems and has good understanding of technical trade offs and evaluations needed to enable high load, low latency systems, while maintaining system reliability and cost efficiency.
- Proactive and product-ownership mindset, capable of delivering 0-to-1 products to facilitate rapid experimentation
- Good English communications with prior work experience in regional & global environment
Desirable Experience
- Experience building software using AI / ML
- Experience with AWS, Terraform, and Kubernetes
- Proficiency in CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab, etc.)
- Experience building customer data platforms, clickstream platforms, or marketing / ads systems
