Get to Know the Team
The Anti-Abuse Engineering team builds applications to provide safety, security and bring trust in all of the high throughput systems, and services of Grab and its partners.
It combats fraud in real-time, the team is composed of and skillful engineers who come together from different domains of technology.
We take pride in building distributed systems that have an impact on the lives of millions of users in our endeavor to out-serve the underserved population. Terms such as Idempotent, CAP theorem, Distributed Agreement are not just theoretical terms for us but have a bearing on the systems we build.
Get to Know the Role
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer, Mobile (Android) to continue building products and services related to fraud, abuse and risk management for Grab and its partner's mobile applications built for the Android platform . We believe you have Deep, hands-on programming and technical design skills with demonstrated willingness and capability to Stay informed about relevant technology trends and developments, also
- 5+ years of software development experience.
- Complex projects and to
- Experience creating detailed technical documentation share across disciplines, locations, and organizations, including senior leadership.
- Experience making any architectural tradeoffs required to rapidly deliver software solutions in a environment.
- You desire to uphold trust of our customers in Grab.
The Critical Tasks You Will Perform
- Identify gaps, product ideas in the fraud, abuse, and risk domain on the platform and mobile applications and translating them product solutions.
- Collaborate with the product, business, and program management team to be on top of your deliverables.
- Participate in technical and product review meetings.
- Maintain and improve the existing products.
- Understand and research the latest advancements in android and fraud tools to keep the products up to date.
- Deliver high quality, maintainable, and operationally excellent code.
- Timely closure of all the assigned code review and design reviews.
- Work with the other co-workers, Backend, and SREs engineers to build/maintain product(s)/solutions/services while keeping track of impact and observability.
Qualifications
What Essential Skills You Will Need
- BS in Computer Science or other related Degrees
- Experience as a successful software development leader in large-scale, available Internet and mobile applications
- History of working with and growing geo-distributed partner teams
- Experience with android SDK.
- Understanding of multithreaded applications and handling concurrency.
- Fluent in Java/Kotlin/C++ language.
- Understanding of OS internals in android or Linux.
- Proficiency in CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab)
