Get to Know the Team

The Singapore Commercial team oversees, shapes and grows the business in Grab Singapore. We contribute towards Grab's vision of being Southeast Asia's superapp by providing everyday services that matter most to consumers in Singapore. We develop and execute business strategies that help us achieve our vision in serving our community.

The team grows and manages the merchant-partners across GrabFood, GrabMart and GrabFin. Ensuring close partnership with these merchants, we develop plans and strategies to drive their sales and meet their business needs, across the different services in Grab such as Express, Pay, and Ads.

Get to Know the Role

As the Lead, Commercial, Merchant Development, you will:

  • Lead the Merchant Development team to drive scalable engagement and growth with Micro-SME merchant partners.
  • Own and deliver commercial goals for the Food business (Deliveries & Omnicommerce), while deepening strategic partnerships across Grab's ecosystem—including GrabPay, GrabAds, and GrabExpress.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to develop and implement solutions that address merchant pain points and accelerate their business growth.

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

  • Report to and partner with the Director, Commercial to shape and execute strategies driving growth across the Food delivery and Omnicommerce businesses (e.g., reservations, deals, loyalty).
  • Identify opportunities and close gaps to grow market share and revenue with Micro-SME merchant partners.
  • Lead and motivate the team to achieve GMV and revenue goals, while spearheading key cross-functional initiatives.
  • Drive scalable, data-led strategies to boost merchant engagement, growth, and monetisation—enabling success through self-serve and sustainable platform tools.
  • Implement merchant lifecycle initiatives that address pain points and business needs.
  • Plan and execute strategic engagements with private and government entities to support shared objectives.
  • Build and maintain senior relationships with external stakeholders to unlock growth opportunities.
  • Monitor team performance and regularly share insights and impact with leadership.
  • Foster a strong team culture through coaching, development, and accountability.
  • Work cross-functionally with Business, Operations, and Marketing to ensure a seamless merchant experience.

Qualifications

What Essential Skills You Will Need

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience leading and building high-performing teams.
  • 10+ years of experience in account management, business development, or partnerships, with a track record of driving impact at scale.
  • Proven ability to own targets and lead teams to deliver results, including managing varying performance levels.
  • Strategic thinker who can translate vision into actionable plans.
  • Comfortable engaging C-level and senior stakeholders.
  • Experience in the F&B industry is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication in English; Mandarin proficiency is a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build strong cross-functional relationships.
  • Well-organized with strong project management and multitasking abilities.
  • Effective in collaborating across teams and organizations.
  • Data-literate, with ability to analyze and draw insights.
  • Thrives in fast-paced, dynamic environments and can manage ambiguity.
