The Payment Experience Team at Grab seeks to create a seamless and unified payment experience across our multiple applications. We are a diverse team that utilizes a variety of coding languages to develop and maintain various apps, aimed at providing an excellent and consistent payment experience for our users.

Get to Know the Role

We are seeking an experienced and experienced Lead Software Engineer, Mobile (Android) to join our innovative team in Jakarta, Indonesia. In this pivotal role, you will lead the development of cutting-edge financial solutions on the Android platform, driving and fostering a collaborative environment. The rolw will be directly report to the Manager.

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

  • Architect high-quality, scalable Android applications
  • Lead a team of Android developers, providing technical guidance and code reviews
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
  • Establish best practices for Android development and ensure adherence to coding standards
  • Optimize application performance and troubleshoot critical issues
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest Android technologies and industry trends
  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from concept to deployment
  • Contribute to technical decision-making and long-term strategy for mobile development

Qualifications

What Essential Skills You Will Need

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in Android app development
  • 2+ years of experience in a leadership role
  • Proficiency in Android development using Java and Kotlin
  • Experience with Android SDK and Android Studio
  • Strong knowledge of mobile app architecture and design patterns
  • Expertise in working with RESTful APIs and JSON
  • Proficiency in version control systems, particularly Git
  • Experience with unit testing and UI testing frameworks for Android
  • Knowledge of mobile app security best practices

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Jetpack Compose
  • Proficiency in Kotlin Coroutines and Flow
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies
  • Fluent with AI tools like Cursor
