Get to Know the Team

The team is composed of regional experts and deep local market operators across Southeast Asia. We are looking to put together the best team that is characterized by strong business acumen, significant industry expertise, and local market depth. The team will be responsible for initiating, managing, optimizing, and troubleshooting for any initiatives or processes related to the movement of payments both within and outside of the Grab platform. The team will also be in charge of maintaining and developing strong relationships with regulators and partners in order to build a robust and collaborative payments ecosystem.

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Platform Operations to join our team in Pasig City, Philippines. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing our entire payments ecosystem, driving innovation, and ensuring compliance with local and international regulations.

You will be directly reporting to the Head of Grab Financial Group (GFG).

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

  • Develop and execute the company's payments strategy, aligning it with overall business objectives
  • Lead and mentor a team of payments professionals, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence
  • Oversee the implementation and management of payment systems and technologies
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance the customer payment experience
  • Analyze payment trends, market dynamics, and emerging technologies to identify growth opportunities
  • Ensure compliance with local and international financial regulations and security standards
  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including financial institutions, payment providers, and regulatory bodies
  • Drive continuous improvement in payment processing efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and fraud prevention
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for the payments department
  • Prepare and present regular reports on payment operations, performance, and strategic initiatives to senior management
  • Provide support for collections by potentially reviewing policies, optimizing operations, and running initiatives to minimize bad debts and write-offs

Qualifications

What Essential Skills You Will Need

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field; ideally with Master's degree or MBA
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in the payments industry, with a track record in leadership roles
  • In-depth knowledge of payment processing, financial technologies, and industry trends
  • Experience with local and international financial regulations and compliance requirements
  • Excellent strategic planning and project management skills
  • Experience with international payment systems and regulations
  • Proficiency in data analysis, reporting, and financial modeling
  • Experience in risk management and fraud prevention
  • Ideally with relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Payments Professional)
