Get to Know the Team

• We are a forward-looking team that is shaping the future of technology and society in Southeast Asia.
• Grab's Public Affairs team builds partnerships with the public sector to support national policy agendas, engage constructively with government and other stakeholders on public policy discussions, and drive initiatives to harness the positive potential of technology to drive impact at scale across Southeast Asia.

Get to Know the Role

You will report to the Head, Regional Public Affairs (Policy) in a hybrid work arrangement, and focus on public affairs strategy development, thought leadership, and strategic engagements for Grab.

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

Support strategy development to implementation for Grab's Public Affairs country teams:

• Work with Grab's country public affairs teams to analyse and provide insights on public policy issues, develop positions and advocacy recommendations to advance Grab's genda
• Develop strategies and execute initiatives related to Grab's public affairs goals
• Orchestrate efforts across different Grab teams to develop and implement a coordinated and robust approach in business operations, to address public policy topics

Support Grab's thought leadership efforts on public affairs:

• Support research on public policy issues that are at the intersection of technology and society
• Work with other teams at Grab to execute campaigns that drive thought leadership and dialogues on key topics, e.g. through planning of dialogues, forums, roundtable discussions, policy programmes etc.
• Develop thought-leadership platforms, and maintain a pipeline of digital content (e.g. policy position papers, publications, blog posts, podcasts, op-eds etc.) to catalyse conversations and foster meaningful engagements

Advance strategic engagements and institutional relations for Grab:

• Establish key partnerships with appropriate external stakeholders across government, international organisations, academia, non-profit and private sectors
• Coordinate between external partners and other teams to execute on partnership initiatives

Qualifications

What Essential Skills You Will Need

• You have 5 or more years of experience in public and/ or government affairs in either public policy, public sector consulting, strategy or strategic advisory, or project management roles
• Knowledge of technology policy issues, with the ability to identify broader social and business implications in issues.
• Passionate about making a positive impact in the community and/or on public policy issues
• You are proactive, resourceful and flexible when encountering problems
• You are adaptable and comfortable working under pressure
• You value teamwork and with a "your problem is my problem" attitude.
• You are proficient in English, both spoken and written
