We are a forward-looking team that is actively shaping the future of technology and society in Southeast Asia.
Grab’s Public Affairs team builds partnerships with the public sector in support of national policy agendas, engage constructively with government and other stakeholders on public policy discussions, and drive initiatives to harness the positive potential of technology to drive impact at scale across Southeast Asia.
The day-to-day activities:

Partner with Grab’s vertical and product strategy teams on commercial initiatives in the context of the regulatory landscape in Grab’s markets of operation:
Provide business teams with strategy and implementation guidance on commercial initiatives to navigate the regulatory landscape
Co-ideate with strategy teams on business or product adjustments in the context of current and / or anticipated regulatory developments

Drive strategic efforts within Grab on public policy topics:
Develop and execute strategic action plans and initiatives, in collaboration with country public affairs and other regional business teams, related to Grab’s public policy objectives
Work with Grab’s country public affairs teams to analyse and provide insights on public policy issues, develop positions and advocacy recommendations to advance Grab’s agenda with governments
Orchestrate efforts across different Grab teams to develop and implement a coordinated and robust approach in business operations, to address public policy topics

Co-drive efforts that strengthen Grab’s thought leadership position on identified topics of interest amongst target public affairs stakeholders:
Work with relevant teams at Grab to execute campaigns that drive thought leadership and dialogues on key topics, e.g. through planning of dialogues, forums, roundtable discussions, policy programmes etc.
Support the building of lasting relationships with external stakeholders that include, governments, policy-makers, academics, NGOs, tech policy representatives from the industry, thought-leaders etc. across Southeast Asia and globally
Qualifications
The must haves:
At least 6-8 years of experience in management consulting, public sector consulting, strategy or strategic advisory, project management or public policy roles
Strategic thinker and problem solver, with the ability to identify broader social implications in business issues. Ideally, knowledge of technology policy issues.
Demonstrated project management experience
Passionate about making a positive impact in the community and/or on public policy issues
A strong self-starter and proactive attitude, with a resourceful and flexible approach to problem-solving
Comfortable working under pressure and be adaptable to a fast-paced and changing environment.
Highly values teamwork and with a “your problem is my problem” attitude.
Highly fluent / proficient in English language
