The Ground Intel (GI) team is a one-of-a-kind breed of individuals who are able to navigate the fraud underworld and back to the world of busting bad actors. GI Team is responsible for protecting the Grab ecosystem by constantly monitoring fraud activities and conducting various fraud research. We make an impact by ensuring that Grab's platform is the most trusted platform in Southeast Asia.

Get to Know the Role

As a Senior Ground Intel Analyst, you will play a vital role in identifying and mitigating risks associated with new product launches and modifications within Grab. Your main responsibilities will include managing risk controls, conducting ground surveillance, investigating fraud activities, and collaborating with various teams to ensure a secure platform environment.

The Critical Tasks You will Perform

• You will conduct risk identification and assessment for new product launches and modifications.
• You will adapt risk controls to changes in modus operandi based on insights and intelligence findings.
• You will monitor various channels, including social media and driver communities, for surveillance activities.
• You will conduct fraud verification of reported activities/cases from various sources and cities across Southeast Asia.
• You will gather ground intelligence on common fraud schemes and trends in the market.
• You will conduct fraud simulations on identified suspicious and high-risk activities, providing solutions to eliminate these activities from Grab's platform.
• You will investigate incidents involving fraud modus operandi.
• You will perform fraud research and benchmarking to uncover and validate fraud trends.
• You will support internal and external teams in investigation and stress test activities.
• You will identify device and app abuse scenarios to support account abuse defense.
• You will develop suspect/player profiles and identify other associates and background information.
• You will report findings, insights, and recommendations to leaders and relevant stakeholders, including country teams, for immediate action.
• You will collaborate with GrabDefence Enterprise to provide professional services to clients, including potential fraud research activities, platform risk assessments, and ground surveillance.
• You will travel regularly across Southeast Asia to conduct investigations and gather intelligence.

Qualifications

What Essential Skills You will Need

• Ability to handle and maintain the confidentiality of information.
• Capability to work independently and make decisions while on the ground.
• Having an established network of informants is a significant advantage.
• Proven experience in a similar role with risk management knowledge, strong stakeholder engagement, problem-solving skills, and a positive attitude.
• Good understanding of the fraud space, with hands-on knowledge in fraud, payments, e-commerce, risk policy development, or risk enforcement work.
• Willingness to relocate or travel frequently.
• Must possess a valid passport.
