Get to Know the Team

The Ecosystem Payments team oversees, shapes, and drives the overall strategy and growth initiatives of money movement for the Grab ecosystem in the Philippines. The team is at the forefront of digital innovation, focused on simplifying payments through secure, seamless solutions like e-wallets, card payments, and digital banking. The team drive decision-making to ensure major initiatives generate the maximum value for the Grab ecosystem, whether by driving down costs, generating incremental revenue, or providing the best payment solutions for our stakeholders, including merchants, drivers, and passengers.

Get to Know the Role

As an Assistant Manager in the Payments Ecosystem team, you will support the development and execution of Grab’s payments strategy for the Philippines. Your main focus will be driving the adoption of GrabPay and cashless payment methods by understanding consumer behavior and trends. You will support various initiatives around payments processing and facilitation, identifying new opportunities to reduce the cost of acceptance for Grab.

This role will challenge you to merge analytical precision with creative innovation to foster growth and engagement across different customer segments. Your contributions will directly shape the evolution of cashless transactions in the region.

The Critical Tasks You will Perform

  • You will craft marketplace programs to drive consumer adoption of GrabPay and cashless payment methods.
  • You will support the development of strategic business priorities based on internal and external analysis, which may involve building financial models and leading actionable functional deliverables.
  • You will drive alignment on our strategy to build reliable and sustainable payment flows for Grab. Collaborate with product, tech, operations, and other stakeholder teams to review product flows and refresh our thinking on the payments infrastructure for the Grab platform.
  • You will conduct analysis and planning of high-impact strategic topics, utilizing problem identification, structured problem-solving, and advising on implementation.
  • You will independently work with analytics and other relevant teams to develop business metrics, analyze performance, derive actionable insights, and communicate progress and impact across the organization.
  • You will craft reports and presentations for leadership that effectively communicate trends, patterns, insights, and forecasts with a well-structured storyline.

Qualifications

What Essential Skills You will Need

  • At least 3-5 years of work experience in strategy, consulting, F&B, or a technology-related field.
  • Highly analytical and passionate about solving problems, with expertise in data analysis to identify root causes and key patterns.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English and Filipino.
  • Ability to influence and persuade at the executive level through well-crafted communication and presentation materials.
  • Results-oriented and impact-focused, able to thrive in a fast-paced and fluid environment.
  • Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets and SQL. Proficiency in R or Python is a significant advantage.
  • Experience with utilizing AI tools and Large Language Models (LLMs).
  • Ability to make key business decisions and provide rigorous, data-driven recommendations.
  • Experience in banking, fintech, or consultancy is a plus.
