Job Description

Get to know the team:

  • The Strategy Team oversees country strategy and special projects across all of Grab’s verticals in the Philippines, including mobility, deliveries, and finance.
  • We are a data-driven team with good experience in operations and an interest in market insights. The team enjoys solving tough, complex business and operational problems and coming up with long-term strategies.

Get to know the role:

  • Strategy & Planning: Develop the overall strategy for the country with the leadership team and be part of the end-to-end problem-solving process. This includes the following: translating and localizing regional mandates for the Philippine context, developing frameworks and structures to help solve business issues, making recommendations based on data and analysis, and creating execution plans
  • New Business: Develop new business from market opportunities and manage the end-to-end process from market research and business planning to actual set-up
  • Project Management: Work on a broad set of projects ranging from new business, organization design implementation, and operational improvement initiatives. Drive and manage cross-functional projects that serve stakeholders across departments and verticals

Business Partnership: Serve as thought partner for the business teams

  • Leadership: Lead the Strategy Team in day-to-day work while helping considering individual career development

The day-to-day activities:

  • Country strategy & planning
    • Monitor country P&L and make recommendations to help hit targets
    • Plan country and people strategy with leadership team
    • Manage risk, procurement, and compliance together with other business units
  • Project management
    • Design and manage strategic and tactical projects
    • Develop plans, success metrics, and relevant communication approaches
    • Execute internal/external projects (including ad hoc activities) through a structured and collaborative approach and according to agreed requirements while ensuring flexibility to adapt to internal/external factors
    • Escalate and resolve roadblocks when needed to deliver outcomes in a timely manner
  • Cross-functional and cross-vertical collaboration
    • Support designing solutions to complex business problems and gather requirements from relevant partners (direct and indirect stakeholders)
    • Foster and strengthen a culture of cross-functional and cross-vertical collaboration on project planning, execution and feedback loops
  • Stakeholder management and communications
    • Manage communication of progress and alignment with overall direction with relevant people across the teams
    • Ensure strict adherence to project/launch timelines and ensure project/launch visibility to the company leadership.
    • Support in performing analyses to enable data driven decision making
    • Facilitate leadership meetings ensuring top priorities are discussed and insights are communicated in the right fashion
    • Manage project roadblocks effectively while maintaining composure and communicating clearly
    • Ensure all participants have a clear role, define the ‘RACI’ matrix, and create escalation points and triggers for delays

Qualifications

The must-haves:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Finance, or any related fields; Master’s degree preferred
  • Minimum 5-10 years in Strategy, Operations, Project Management, or Management Consulting
  • Analytical and Strategic Skills: Highly analytical with keen attention to details; proficient in both strategy and operations
  • Mission Alignment: Passionate about Grab's social mission; dedicated to positive impact internally and externally
  • Leadership and Communication: Strong motivator, collaborator, and negotiator; excellent communication skills; adept at influencing diverse groups
  • Entrepreneurial Mindset: Highly entrepreneurial, executional, resilient, and agile; self-standing with a strong drive for excellence and growth
  • Technical Competencies: Proficient in Microsoft and Google Workplace tools; demonstrated experience in driving transformative initiatives; SQL and Python knowledge preferred
  • Language Proficiency and Relationship Management: Excellent communication skills in English and Filipino; capable of managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders; proven track record in collaborating across functions for process development and strategic problem-solving
