The Role

We’re seeking a talented Senior UI/UX Developer to join our team and play a crucial role in shaping the user experience of our SaaS platform. This position blends product design expertise with hands-on front-end development skills to create innovative, user-centric solutions.

As the Senior UI/UX Developer, you’ll work autonomously to conceptualize and implement new features and workflows while collaborating closely with the product team and other developers to scope and guide development work. Interesting challenges exist in our platform around user collaboration, ad hoc analysis, machine learning model interpretation, and geospatial data visualizations. Your keen eye for detail and design will be instrumental in crafting highly enjoyable software products that delight our users.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the design and implementation of new user interfaces and experiences
Optimize existing UI/UX designs for improved usability and performance
Develop and test prototypes to validate design concepts before full implementation
Collaborate with product team and developers to ensure designs are accurately implemented and meet key requirements
Scope new front-end features in partnership with developers, providing guidance on UI/UX best practices
Contribute to the ongoing development of our OCIANA platform and related projects
Work within an agile framework to deliver high-quality results efficiently
Actively participate in continuous learning initiatives, including staying updated on industry trends, sharing knowledge with the team, and exploring new technologies relevant to our stack

Experience and Qualifications

5+ years of commercial web development experience, with a focus on UI/UX design and implementation
Experience with React, Redux, Node.js, Typescript, and Material UI
Expertise in translating design specifications and mockups into robust, pixel-perfect implementations
Proficiency with UI design tools such as Sketch, Adobe XD, or Figma
Experience with version control systems (Git, GitLab) and CI/CD processes
Experience working in cloud environments (AWS preferred)
Ability to work autonomously and lead UI/UX initiatives

Additional Skills an Asset

Customer-centric mindset with a passion for creating exceptional user experiences
Experience with web mapping and geospatial analysis
Proficiency in writing and maintaining unit tests for front-end code
Knowledge of user research methodologies and usability testing
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams
