About The Role
We are looking for passionate, highly skilled technicians to work as part of our robot and satellite manufacturing team. As a Robotics Technician, you will collaborate closely with mechanical and electrical engineers to assemble rapidly developed prototypes. You’ll identify areas for improvement in initial designs and play a key role in refining both design and manufacturing processes, ensuring smooth transitions to full-scale production.
Responsibilities
- Assemble, install, and test prototypes and flight hardware of electro-mechanical space systems and their related equipment, including spacecraft, robotic systems, Lunar/Mars rovers, subsystems, components, electrical harnesses, and functional and environmental test equipment with precision and quality
- Perform electrical wiring, soldering, and harnessing tasks according to technical drawings, schematics, and drawings
- Conduct incoming inspections of CNC parts, Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBAs), and related components to ensure quality standards
- Collaborate with engineers to improve assembly instructions and optimize manufacturing processes through daily Kaizen activities to enhance productivity and product quality
- Support testing and evaluation activities for prototypes, flight hardware, and ground support equipment through project lifecycles
- Maintain a clean and organized laboratory and workshop environment
- Read and interpret technical drawings and work instructions in support of the above activities
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent
- Minimum of 5 years of practical expertise in electro-mechanical assembly with a strong focus on precision and attention to detail (excluding internship experience)
- Demonstrated ability to exhibit flexibility and proactivity in task completion, ensuring adaptability to evolving project demands
- Proficiency in electrical wiring, soldering, and harnessing, showcasing a thorough understanding of electrical systems and connections
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows operating systems and the Microsoft Office suite to effectively communicate, document, and analyze project-related data
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical degree, Associate degree or higher
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate, communicate, and track daily and weekly manufacturing task assignments for a small technician team
- Experience with Asana project management software or its equivalent
- Proven aptitude in comprehending, interpreting, and effectively implementing a variety of technical documentation and processes, including but not limited to layout drawings, mechanical drawings, assembly procedures, and work instructions
- Extensive experience as a technician specializing in electromechanical components, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of their intricate workings
- Proficiency in mechanical and/or electrical Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software, such as Creo, Altium, or their equivalent, for the precise comprehension and assembly of electromechanical subcomponents with precision and attention to detail
- A keen ability to assess assembly quality both in electrical and mechanical knowledge, ensuring the delivery of high-quality end products
Additional Qualifications
- Physical capacity to independently lift objects weighing up to 40 pounds
- Must be available to work extended hours and weekends as needed

Salary range
- $30/hr - $40/hr
- Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience
