About the Role:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Intern to join our Software Engineer team. This internship provides an excellent opportunity for those passionate about space exploration, robotics, and software engineering to gain hands-on experience.

The position will serve a critical role in enhancing GITAI’s robotic capability by adopting state-of-the-art techniques and software.

Responsibilities:

  • Enhance what GITAI’s robots can do through tangible demonstrations
  • Identify project priorities, software/hardware requirements, and design constraints with team members and translate those into minimum-viable systems
  • Work with other engineers and the manufacturing team to correct any problems with the robot.
  • Develop software that matches GITAI's quality standards
  • Perform any testing necessary to maintain the software. Including manual testing using actual equipment and automated testing.

Requirements:

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Currently enrolled in a Master’s or Ph. D’s degree in Robotics, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Demonstrable experience with robotics software and hardware, including sensors, controllers, actuators, and communication devices.
  • Experience with C++ and Python
  • Experience developing software with ROS and Linux
  • Basic understanding of robotic kinematics and computer vision.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
