How you will contribute to our mission in getting Australia to space:

The below is designed to give you an idea of the role you will play. There will be many more exciting and innovative things to do:

  • Work with the Program Manager and Department Heads in the planning, management, execution, and implementation of engineering projects.
  • Provide leadership, oversight, and direct support across all facets of engineering ensuring a profound understanding of new and relevant technologies for the purposes of successful launch vehicles.
  • Work closely with key personnel across the business on strategic planning and delivery of company success.
  • Formulate theoretical designs of aerospace /aeronautical products/systems that can meet the requirements of the business.
  • Direct and coordinate activities of engineering, design, modification, fabrication, and testing of various products and sub systems.
  • Establish external strategic relationships with potential partners, customers, and collaborators within the Aerospace and related industries.
  • Plan and conduct operational, experimental, and environmental tests on prototypes and models of aerospace and aircraft equipment and systems.
  • Write technical reports & other documentations like operating procedures, guides and handbooks that can be used by management, engineering staff and external bodies as required.
  • Direct Research & Development programs as required.
  • Review performance reports & documentation from field engineers, troubleshooting damaged products, or malfunctioning to detect problems.
  • Plan and coordinate activities regarding technical problems on the vehicle or related systems.
  • Remain up to date with cutting-edge technologies and industry best practices, absorbing relevant and suitable technology based on projected benefits.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time in full and any variations are communicated clearly to the Program Manager and broader leadership team.
  • Continue to analyse, monitor and improve efficiency and stability of systems.
  • Travel as required, including travel to the company’s launch site.
  • Ensure employees work in line with company policies and procedures.
  • Provide input on training and development necessary to meet the needs of the business.
  • Trouble shooting and problem solving as required.
  • Other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Masters’ degree in an engineering discipline
  • NV1 Security Clearance eligible preferred
  • At least 10 years Engineering experience
  • At least 3 years management experience
  • Demonstrated project/task management, execution, analysis, and product development capabilities
  • Advanced knowledge of engineering analysis tools and CAD systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

Desired Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum 15 years’ experience as Senior Engineering
  • Experience building and leading engineering teams with excellent troubleshooting capabilities
  • Strong Leadership skills with a minimum of 5 + years in similar role within the Aerospace or related industries
  • Experience in space systems engineering, risk assessment, cost modeling and analysis
  • Highly developed Project Management skills

  • Leadership, motivational and/or negotiating skill. Anticipates and responds to the needs of others
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, having ability to move cross functional groups in a unified direction
  • Well-developed communication, interpersonal, conflict resolution skills
  • Proven Ability to prioritize and manage work demands and deliver outcomes
  • Self-motivated, results oriented with a high level of attention to detail
  • Demonstrated commitment to health and safety, quality assurance, continuous improvement, and environmental management
