How you will contribute to our mission in getting Australia to space:

The below is designed to give you an idea of the role you will play. There will be many more exciting and innovative things to do:

  • Contribute as part of a team of Avionics Engineers delivering avionics systems
  • Support requirements definition, design activities, reviews
  • Assist with integration of avionics units and subsystems including power, compute, sensors, communications and control interfaces
  • Support verification and validation (V&V) activities at unit and subsystem level
  • Develop and execute test procedures, capture results and assist in closing out requirements
  • Support environmental, functional and integration testing campaigns
  • Assist with troubleshooting, investigations and corrective actions
  • Contribute to concept studies, trade studies and COTS evaluations under guidance of senior engineers
  • Support Research and Development activities and production engineering tasks
  • Coordinate with Mechanical, Propulsion, Manufacturing and Production teams
  • Engage with suppliers and subcontractors as required
  • Ensure engineering activities are documented and conducted in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Other duties as requested by Management

As you develop, you may take ownership of specific avionics units or components under supervision.

Minimum Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics, Computer Systems, Mechatronics Engineering or relevant qualification
  • Ability to operate effectively in dynamic, fast-paced environments
  • Demonstrated resilience and willingness to learn in high-pressure situations
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
  • NV1 Security Clearance eligible preferred.

Desired Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • PCB development of analogue, digital and mixed-signal circuits
  • Hands-on electronics testing, troubleshooting and debugging
  • Embedded software development (baremetal, RTOS, embedded Linux)
  • FPGA/SoC hardware and software development
  • Integration and verification of avionics units
  • Electronics analysis including circuit simulation, power and thermal assessments
  • RF fundamentals including antenna design, link budgets or EMI testing
  • Systems Engineering practises
  • Space or aerospace engineering standards (e.g. GSFC-STD-7000A, SMC-S-016, RCC 319, DO-254, DO-178)
  • Experience in space, aerospace or automotive industries
  • Exposure to waterfall and/or agile development frameworks

The ideal candidate is motivated, curious, practical and eager to build real systems, not just analyse them on paper.
