How you will contribute to our mission in getting Australia to space:

The below is designed to give you an idea of the role you will play. There will be many more exciting and innovative things to do:

Program Planning:

  • Contribute to the planning process for future vehicle and satellite Programs: Work with Program and Department leaders to confirm the scope, timeframes, resourcing and budget requirements for future work packages
  • Facilitate monthly Program planning sessions: Facilitate monthly planning workshops with Program and Department leaders to further refine near term work packages and add a greater level of detail in terms of scope, start / finish dates, resourcing and budget requirements
  • Contribute to the workforce planning process: Ensure all near term work has specific employees assigned within all schedules and extract that data ready for use within the workforce planning system

Program Scheduling:

  • Develop new vehicle and satellite schedules: Create new schedules in conjunction with the Program planning process, down to the Tier 4 / Stage / Sub-system level
  • Refine executing vehicle and satellite schedules: Update existing schedules in conjunction with the monthly Program planning process, refining data down to the Tier 5 / 6 level, ensuring the work scope and timings are confirmed, resourcing data is accurate and reflects specific employee work allocations and the data is transferred across to the work management system
  • Facilitate weekly schedule progress updates: Coordinate weekly schedule status updates by all employees and incorporate those progress updates within the applicable schedules

Program Performance Management:

  • Contribute to schedule performance reviews: Extract data from the schedules and generate Program performance charts in support of weekly performance reviews – identify work that was completed / not completed in the prior period, work to be completed in the next period, as well as critical path / driving path activities
  • Support Program performance trend analysis: Provide support in identifying valuable Program performance trends (such as scheduling, resourcing, risks and issues etc) that will help ensure Program execution success
  • Contribute to schedule ‘what-if’ analysis: Undertake what-if analysis of the current schedules to aid in effective business decision making regarding business priorities, Program execution and workforce resourcing

Software Tools Management:

  • Support PM software tools management: Provide support as needed to the Program Systems and Tools Specialist role within the team, ensuring the interfaces and data syncing between the IMS, work management and production planning software tools work effectively
Minimum Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • Extensive experience (5+ years) developing and maintaining technically complex, multi-disciplinary, Program schedules
  • Thorough working knowledge of project scheduling software tools such as MS Project, OPP, Primavera etc
  • Thorough understanding of project management knowledge areas and concepts (scope and requirements definition, planning and scheduling, budgets, resource management, risk and quality management, stakeholder management)
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills

Desired Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Formal qualification in project management
  • Experience in the use of work management tools such as JIRA and the integration of that work management system into an Integrated Master Schedule
