How you will contribute to our mission in getting Australia to space:
The below is designed to give you an idea of the role you will play. There will be many more exciting and innovative things to do.
- Design, analyse, verify, and document mechanical and structural systems using a spectrum of design, analysis, test, and manufacturing tools to deliver structures and mechanical components.
- Own end-to-end product delivery timelines through conception, design, assembly, and qualification.
- Define and review hardware test plans for development, qualification, and acceptance.
- Interpret requirements and specifications to develop mechanical architectures and layouts.
- Analyse test data to inform design decisions and manage technical risk.
- Provide technical review and mentoring support to engineering colleagues in accordance with company and departmental engineering standards, policies, and procedures.
- Exercise sound engineering judgement to resolve complex, time-critical problems under pressure, often with incomplete or evolving information.
- Perform additional duties aligned with role responsibilities as requested.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
- 6+ years of experience with aerospace or mechanical design and analysis in a professional setting (excluding internships).
- 6+ years of experience with CAD, designing parts and assemblies.
- 3+ years of experience with at least one commercial FEA or Multiphysics simulation package.
- 6+ years of hands-on hardware experience performing fabrication, assembly, integration and/or testing.
- Master’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering
- Chartered Engineer (CPEng) and/or RPEQ status, or demonstrated progress toward professional registration.
- Understanding of structural analysis and failure modes of complex aerospace or mechanical systems,
- Analytical/scientific programming experience (Python, Matlab, Excel, etc).
- Experience with multi-disciplinary systems.
- Experience with structural testing.
- Experience with Systems Engineering processes.
- Solid understanding and application of GD&T.
- Eligibility to obtain a NV1 Security Clearance.
