There will be many more exciting and innovative things to do.Act as a liaison between the design and manufacturing teams, ensuring that machined components are optimised for manufacturability. Provide expert input into the manufacturability of machined parts.Participate in design reviews with a focus on manufacturing feasibility, quality control, tooling requirements, and process optimisation.Prepare detailed documentation for manufacturing processes, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), QC inspection criteria, work instructions, and bills of materials (BOMs).Develop advanced in-house machining capabilities, to enable manufacture of complex spacecraft assemblies. Lead machining trials and prototype development, validating new techniques or materials for future production use.Lead tooling and fixturing design development required for machining operation.Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis of manufacturing issues, investigating and implementing corrective actions for non-conforming components or processes.Collaborate with the supply chain to ensure proper sourcing of materials required for production.Enforce site and personnel safety standards, producing and updating WH&S documentation where applicable.Lead continuous improvement efforts for manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, improve quality, and lower production costs.Mandatory Qualifications, Skills and Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering or closely related areas (Or equivalent experience & qualifications e.g. Technical certificate or qualification in a relevant field.)3+ years of experience working in a professional machine shop setting.Understanding of precision components manufacture using lathes, mills, and general workshop equipment.Strong understanding of inspection methods.Ability to read and generate engineering drawingsSelf-motivated with strong multi-tasking, organisational, communication and documentation skills.NV1 Security Clearance eligible preferred.Desired Qualifications, Skills and Experience:Expertise in manufacturing processes, including assembly, testing, and troubleshooting.Experience working in a high-precision environment, supporting a broad range of manufacturing processes.Proficiency with CAD software (Siemens NX, SolidWorks, Inventor, CATIA) to support the design of setups and tooling.Ability to work well in a cross-functional team, interacting daily with engineers, technicians, and management.Creative problem solver that can bring multiple disciplines together.How to Apply:Applicants must be an Australian Citizen/Permanent Resident or have an appropriate Australian work visa or work entitlements.If you are a proactive team player with a passion to get Australia to space and a desire to succeed, please apply now by clicking the apply button and including your resume and cover letter or head to our website: CAREER | Gilmour Space Technologies | Rocket launch provider (gspace.com).
