Overview
We are seeking a full-time Warehouse Manager at Garmin's U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area. In this role, you will be responsible for managing departments that are responsible for Finished Goods, Consumer Receiving, Put away Replenishment and Quality Assurance Processes.
Essential Functions
- Manage warehouse processes for consumer products and develop, update and maintain procedures for the department
- Directly supervise various levels of team members by setting the tone for the team environment and providing individualized coaching, training and mentoring
- Participate in recruiting activities, interview, hire, train, and evaluate performance for the team including performance reviews
- Ensure meeting deadlines, contractual commitments, deliveries and/or support of manufacturing areas and manage/improve flow of material
- Monitor and audit for compliance with established procedures and monitor workload in area to ensure incoming/outgoing material is processed in a timely manner
- Manage departmental goals and metrics
- Ensure training records are maintained for Associates
- Develop and implement process improvements to increase accuracy and improve productivity
- Perform and fill in for all tasks of the individuals reporting to this position for vacations and absences when necessary
- Ensure safety is followed in department aligning with company goals
- Travel to Distribution and Customer Facilities and attend various industry and retail compliance conferences/seminars as needed
- Cleanliness zone area requirements: This position requires Garmin provided personal protective equipment including SD shoes (Static Dissipative Footwear) to be always worn for an entire shift to minimize the risk of electrostatic discharge (ESD) and meet specified standards
Picking, Value Added Services, ATO operations
- Coordinate the sales order fulfillment activities by working with Order Management and Shipping departments
- Manage all aspects of Picking, Value Added Services, and ATO operations
- Partner with the industrial engineer staff on conveyor routing system and material picking processes
- Work closely with management of the replenishment processes to ensure that we are maintaining sufficient inventory to support outbound picking/shipping efforts
- Manage order fulfillment processes to ensure proper implementation and support of contract commitments to achieve customer satisfaction and minimize non-compliance issues for our retail customers
- Manage finished goods order fulfillment processes to ensure we are meeting inventory accuracy performance indicators and provide a balanced flow of work into Shipping
Small Parcel and LTL/TL Shipping
- Coordinate shipping activities by working with order management and finished goods order fulfillment departments
- Work with the industrial engineer staff on conveyor routing system and material shipping processes
- Manage shipping processes to ensure proper implementation and support of contract commitments to achieve customer satisfaction and minimize non-compliance issues for our retail customers
- Manage shipping processes to ensure level load techniques, maximum productivity and accuracy to meet customer expectations
- Responsible for recruiting, interviewing, hiring and performance management of the shipping staff
- Responsible for performance of warehouse functions for the Shipping Processes
- Develop and improve interface between the warehouse and other departmental functions
- Oversee activities related to distribution of mass mailing programs, work closely with corporate communications to ensure deadlines are met
- Manage the Parcel Store associates, packaging and shipping processes along with customer service to internal Garmin associates
Receiving and Replenishment
- Manage inbound Receiving Processes for Finished Goods consumer products including dock scheduling, prioritization of inbound product, flow of backordered products into stock, and coordination of dock to stock and inspected products and Quality Assurance
- Manage flow of material from Receiving into primary and overstock locations
- Manage replenishment of primary stocking locations from overstock locations
- Manage flow of material from supporting departments into Finished Goods inventory
- Support direct delivery of product to the shipping and value-added areas for bulk pulls
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Management, Operations or Material Management AND a minimum of 5 years supervisory/management experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or operations related environment
- Demonstrated proficient computer skills using Microsoft Word and Excel
- Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Must be positive, detail oriented, organized, team oriented and a driven problem solver, multi-tasker, and self-starter with the ability to prioritize and lead in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment
Desired Qualifications
- APICS (American Production and Inventory Control Society) Certification
- Oracle experience
- Warehouse Management System Rules Generation and Maintenance experience
