Overview
We are seeking a full-time Printed Circuit Board Designer 1 at Garmin's U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area or our office in Salem, OR. In this role, you will be responsible for creating well-defined moderately complex Printed Circuit Board (PCB) designs based on schematics and input from Design Engineers.

We are seeking a full-time Printed Circuit Board Designer 1 at Garmin's U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area or our office in Salem, OR. In this role, you will be responsible for creating well-defined moderately complex Printed Circuit Board (PCB) designs based on schematics and input from Design Engineers.
Essential Functions
- Partner with Product Design Engineers and Mechanical Engineers to produce moderately complex PCB Designs
- Provide feedback to Design Engineers as needed to ensure manufacturability is maintained in each design
- Suggest options when faced with challenging PCB Design situations
- Attend engineering design reviews and act on decisions made there
- Plan technical work and estimate completion times for PCB designs
- Serve as a mentor to PCB Design Assistant as needed
- Demonstrate full understanding and use of Garmin design standards and procedures
- Utilize a basic knowledge of PCB manufacturing processes
- Maintain a sense of urgency, commitment, and focus on the right priorities in each PCB Design
- Perform eCAD librarian duties as needed
- Associate’s Degree in Electronics Technology or related field OR a minimum of 2 years relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
- Demonstrated ability to read schematics
- Demonstrated proficiency using personal computers and Microsoft Office applications
- Experience with Cadence Allegro
- Working knowledge of PCB manufacturing processes
- Working knowledge of all types of electronic components
- Working knowledge of electronic circuits theory of operation
